maintaining this account has become more and more of a liability rather than a profitable endeavour, or even something fun. on twitter i’ve ditched my 3.5k account and made a new one 2 months ago, which is nearing 750 followers. while that’s happening i’m still stuck at 530 on bluesky.

see here’s the thing, most people who are big here are already big elsewhere. this platform is not a fertile ground for new artists. especially for me, an eastern artist which is a niche here. (following furrylist didn’t do jackshit)

I can see this platform being better if you’re doing it purely for fun, i’m not. this is my job, closest thing to it anyway, and i’m trying to build a stable income. even if i was doing this for fun, the lack of perceived growth greatly frustrates me.

the follower count did grow, but those followers never come back. it’s still the same 30 ish people from 1-2 years ago who likes my drawing. i’ve also gotten many commissions on twitter while on here i’ve gotten two, and that was months ago.

apparently it counts as a view as soon as the video starts so yeah i would imagine they’ll get a lot of views “on paper”
