Anyone else going as Pumpkin Hill from Sonic Adventure 2 for Halloween this year or just me? 🎃⛰️ The costume has a treasure hunting minigame where you can move Knuckles across the “level” and the radar necklace will blink as you get closer to the hidden emerald in the pockets 💎 I love Halloween!!

25 years ago, on October 22, 2001, Grand Theft Auto III was released. This is the team that made it. (I'm second from the right) Here's what I remember about making it.

For those not familiar, setjmp/longjmp behave sort of like throw/catch in languages with exception, except without all the other language features that make exception handling somewhat reasonable. It basically rewinds the execution without any sort of proper stack unwinding. Don't use it. Don't.

I'm such a sucker for flying cities/dungeons in RPGs. I mean look at this beauty.

Truly an impressive game for 1999. The graphics are not *too far* from GTA Vice City but it's running on the PS1 and was released before GTA2 was even out.

PocketStation firmware code that checks for the year overflow on 2000/01/01 00:00:00 in order to increment the millennia/century byte. It's a bit strange seeing a bit of code that, in all likelihood, only ever ran once at the turn of the century and never will again.
