It‘s a site of trust-building in the way that it works; and it provides a mechanism for taking care of you, and (sometimes more importantly) also your networks. (2/2)

@ilgaworld.bsky.social "Feminist, LGBTI, and more social justice groups have joined forces to help people exercise their right to privacy. And together, we continue building a world where everyone gets to decide which parts of their lives they wish to share safely online with others.“ (2/2)

CHAYN: “Encryption is a feminist issue because it protects the safety of women and gender queer people. Whether you are a survivor of gender-based violence or an activist challenging patriarchal structures, you need to communicate securely.” www.chayn.co

With Luísa Franco Machado, Brazilian digital rights advocate and founder of EquiLabs, and Camila Nobrega, researcher, transmedia journalist, and writer. Moderated by Lisa Ama Schrade, with the audience bringing their own AI myths, questions, and experiences into the conversation.

Like so many of you, we’re angry, grieving, sad & disappointed at the results in Sachsen-Anhalt, where the far-right, anti-immigrant AfD party won 43.8% of the vote. We’re still figuring out exactly how to show up for the current political moment after the results on Sunday, but this much is clear:

We can’t and shouldn’t let go of our visions, even during scary political moments like the one we’re in, here in Germany and in so many other places around the world. If anything, moments like this remind us why those bigger visions matter:
