A healthy society doesn't put combination codes on its restrooms. Why? Because a healthy society doesn't have thousands of people desperately roaming its streets, whether unemployed, homeless, mentally ill, or addicted to drugs. 1/

Did that community have problems? I'm sure it did. But now her urn is gone, along with the final remains of her loved one. The city saw it as trash.

In America, the further you fall, the harder you get pushed. Unless you're a weapons manufacturer, there's never enough money to solve our problems. Good thing our restrooms have locks on them.

Try getting a job without a shower. Try getting a good night's rest without a home. Try holding onto your emotional well-being when the city you call home, despite you being homeless, sends its authorities to flatten your tent and throw away the shopping cart that holds your precious few belongings.

I read an article about one homeless woman trying her best to make it through each day. She had an urn that contained the ashes of her husband. Then the city came through and destroyed her homeless community.

In a healthy society, these issues don't disappear. But their frequency of occurrence is much lower, making it unnecessary for businesses or restaurants to invest the extra dollars to create electronic barricades around their toilets.

America is not a healthy society. The number of people living in tent cities or sleeping on beds of pavement continue to rise. So do the number of billionaires.
