I’m beginning to second guess my plan to vote Craig instead of JAG for Wellington Bays. I’m just done with hipkins and Labour rolling out plans at the last minute

From 8 Nov, a minister with a mortgage-free Wellington home can still claim the full $52,000 allowance if a valuer says it could rent for $1,000 a week. Under Upston's law, from April, homeowners on the Accommodation Supplement get nothing until housing costs top 40% of their benefit, not 30. #nzpol

stuff.co.nzAuthority cracks down on ministers’ $52,000 accommodation allowancesBut ministers who own their Wellington homes mortgage-free will still be able to claim the accommodation allowance.

I thought rates would go down under the proposed new WCC Capital Value to Land Value. Instead a group of 6 flats is going to have to find another $180 each ($1.1K total). How does that make sense? We each have 75m2 homes and just enough land to park cars and dry washing and a few plants in pots.

ok small business friends - especially wellington ones. Does anyone think things are going to have a christmas upswing? or is this year a write off? #NZ #SmallBusiness I was hoping for post election improvement, but now i'm worried it's going to stay in the doldrums.

The 25% of the world didn't die in 2020 from Covid. So yay science!

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

WINZ Update I provided thing they said that would resolve everything and I’d be sorted. I was still declined. Waited on phone for an hour saw a case manager in person. I found out At no point in certifying my disability allowance has WINZ followed correct process

I get to wait 3-5 days for an answer. I also found out call center staff can never approve money, only take it away. But the call center is the only way to communicate.

Between my health and mum’s age we can’t do much. But what she can do is write letters to the editor of our increasingly right wing Wellington newspaper that we subscribe to.

3 phone call and 2 hours and 43 minutes later the WINZ call center is sending a person an email and someone will get back to me. Because nobody knows why my application was declined, it's weird to decline prescription drugs and it's weird to decline physio therapy that was covered until now

off to my third trip to WINZ to provide disability allowance documentation. Each time i provide all they ask, each time i receive a letter saying 'we need X as well' all those extras could be asked for with the first set of docs but no. I wonder is this a strategy at WINZ or an offshoot of ai?

after 5 months /miss Tilly the Cat has discovered she can go out the front door and come in the back door and via versa. she is now very exhausted for a day of testing this disovery

Having now seen Digger & Coyote Vs Acme I don’t understand how they dropped the ball on a delightful comedy and instead pandered to Tom cruise

For the first time in over a decade i'm not doing product photography or putting any effort into selling online. The hours and money i put in last year did not pay off and that doesn't account for the time it took, & economically postage is ridiculous.

Timeline Cleanse - Magnificent mahi Making our environment better

We had a heart fulfilling day today with expert weavers and environmental educators from around Te Whanganui-a-Tara weaving more ikawai taura. We built v2 of the floating wetland island as well.

So weird how on RNZ Guyon and PAddy decided Nicky Hager's book was nothing, based on TPU always going at Nicola Willis. Lazy journalism at it's best.

Does anyone know i Labour plan to supply staff to fill all the hospital buildings they're going to fix? Because a shiny new or fixed building is great but if there's nobody to heal people it's pointless?

This would solve the empty space problem in Wellington fast than the City Council paying landlords to repaint their shopfronts

'The Green Party is pledging to restore city centre vibrancy by ensuring market rent reviews for small businesses can lower rents, and letting councils run rental auctions for spaces that have been empty for longer than 12 months.' #NzPol

Oh hai, new cat alert. My heart is full of happiness with a new member of the house. She’s mostly blind and has a congenital condition that means her walk is a little derpy. She’s unable to murder birds , loves naps and is incredibly gentle with mum.

Meet Matilda the cat. currently visiting with the hope she loves us and our house enough to stay forever. She’s 3 years old old and I love her so much

A watched bank account never fill up with your fornightlight consignment sales payment - oh how i wish it did but look at this, I realised something magnificent over the weekend 25 years since I sold at my very first Craft Fairs Bitchcraft in November 2005 and Thorndon Fair in December 2005
