No wonder our city is such rough shape… Karen Bass: - missed 1/3 of Metro board meetings - missed 1/2 of homeless authority meetings (that she appointed herself to!) - was out of town during Palisades and Lineage fires Enoughbass.com

Today’s back to back headlines. A reminder: this isn’t normal and we don’t have to live like this. All it takes is the courage to redesign our streets around people instead of cars.

Breaking news: SB 1167 has been signed into law! 🎉 This bill draws a clear line between legal e-bikes and faster, more powerful motor vehicles, and makes it harder for companies to market motorcycles and mopeds as “e-bikes.”

AB 1976 is signed! California cities can now build the safe streets projects they've already approved, while keeping community input where it matters most.

✅ SIGNED BY THE GOVERNOR: AB 1599 by Asm Ahrens that creates a statewide transit stop registry and requires transit agencies to standardize stop data and identifiers.

“For far too long we have designed our streets for moving cars, and asked everybody else to figure out how to survive around them. Traffic violence is a policy choice, and today we’re choosing differently. Bravo Councilmember Hernandez ! la.streetsblog.org/2026/09/10/l...

Councilmembers John Lee and Monica Rodriguez tried to get the city to ask the state to suspend the gas tax. Thanks to the CLA, it looks like this terrible idea is dead.

"How much does it cost to write your own law in California? About $500,000. That’s what Forest Lawn and Mt Sinai spent on lobbyists since 2025 to kill one road safety project, on one street, in LA. This week, Sacramento gave them their money’s worth." www.latimes.com/opinion/stor...
