George Lucas said numerous times he made Star Wars for kids. Nothing has changed. Andor and Rogue One aside it's all aimed at 12 year olds. This is the most beautiful thing about Star Wars. YouTubers miss the point when they apply children's films to a desire for some DudeBro Zack Snyder cool shit.

"Hello. Yes. Hello. Can you help us? We are looking for the nuclear vessels." Walter Koenig has passed. He was 90. I loved him. My heart is sad. He was such a lovely, funny & warm person. Ensign Pavel Andreievich Chekov is a part of me and always will be. That's all. 💔

I'm always trying to apply the issues I face daily into the universe of Star Wars. Somehow, I'm able to find a kind of community and almost therapy from working out my actual issues with the allegorical stories contained within Star Wars. The Odyssey slots in here too also hence my ranting about it.

I had a challenging childhood to say the least and when I watch Star Wars (Andor fully included) EVERYONE HAD A TROUBLED CHILDHOOD. I love that. They all had huge obstacles thrust upon them during the childhood years. This is why Star Wars saved me when I was 12. It's still saving me now. 💙

"Pathological rejection of authority based on unresolved childhood trauma." This line from Sam Mendes' first Bond film Skyfall also correctly describes me. Maybe before I knew that sad fact one of the reasons I loved Bond as a kid was that he did what he needed to do. I did what happened to me.

When Moneypenny is shaving Bond in Skyfall he inadvertently opens her shirt. She pushes him back. This character is so psychologically flawed I see myself in him. He instinctively misinterprets the act of intimacy from a friend & a part of him assumes he should follow through. Most complex Bond yet.

This is the way to enjoy the Daniel Craig James Bond films. A two part prequel followed by the greatest & only 007 trilogy. Casino Royale & Quantum is a double bill. Do an intermission after Le Chiffre is shot. Watch these two as one. Skyfall is standalone & Spectre & No Time a glorious double bill.

Richard Marquand directing Rey's Grandfather. Who she would later reject. Rey chose connection over lineage. That's the cohesive powerful theme of the sequel trilogy. You aren't bound by your DNA. Choose your own story. Strong, precise and inspirational. They say it's disconnected. They're wrong. 💙

The Odyssey will end its theatrical run with $1.8B at the global box office. The highest-grossing R-rated film in history. For now. It's legitimately in my top three films ever. The Last Jedi, The Odyssey & I'm not sure. Tootsie maybe. Taxi Driver. 2001. The Color Of Money. Films heal & comfort. 📽️

"The politics of prison are a mirror of the street. The poor endure oppression, the Police control the state. Correctional facility - that's what they call this place - but look around and you will see - a policy of race. Time is an ocean of endless tears." [Paul Simon]

Dave Bowman and Hal 9000. I watched 2001 again today. That's the third this week. I've seen it hundreds of times previously. But there are very few films that excite my imagination in such a unique way however many times I watch. Kubrick is the God of this. Everyone else replicates & steals.

Vote Blue in the Midterms. Pull the thread. Change everything. Such range and power will correct the error of electing Trump. Ok, it won't correct the error, I just like repurposing Star Wars quotes and applying them to real life. After all, it's all machine partner. Live free - #VOTE-BLUE ! 💙💙💙

Torbin's urgency rushing back to the Fortress when the Jedi realised the girls were the same triggered the calamity. Somebody else may have initiated the rush back or Indara may have been able to come up with a plan. Torbin felt guilty & that's all that's required for mental anguish. It makes sense.

As a way to protect my unconscious self from the uncertainty & peril that was daily life I created patterns & repetitive behavior when I was young. I remember my very young childhood fondly. I wonder if the routines somehow formed this perception? Expose the pain & it shrinks. BPD. PTSD. Expose it!

Ben & Rey is why I ❤️ the sequels the most. Kylo loses it with the the Ventral Canons guy but when he grabs his neck, "What girl?", & it cuts straight to Rey's face? Dyad! Intense connection! Obsession! Complicated messy real profoundly deep relationships in Star Wars. Who knew?

Ben Solo grew up believing that because of his perceived abandonment he must be a monster. Then after killing Han he thinks he's proved to himself & everyone else that he is in fact a monster. That's why Snoke's rejection is so devastating to him. Rey, only accepted Ben in all of his confusion. 💙💙💙

I think it's scary to think that Padme's line in Episode III regarding, liberty dying to thunderous applause, is slowly happening. I'd take Palpatine over Trump. At least he's consistent. You always know where you stand with a true Sith Lord.

Ben Solo's character is 100% consistent within the inconsistency that comes from having Borderline Personality Disorder. His redemption was set up in VII & VIII. Kills Han yet is rejected by Snoke. DOESN'T kill Leia. DOES kill Snoke. He can't join Rey until IX. It's 💯% perfect from my point of view.

"When I was making Star Wars, I wasn't restrained by any kind of science. I simply said, I'm going to create a world that's fun, interesting, makes sense, & seems to have a reality to it." [George Lucas] Can you feel that? Then this is the lesson. The Holdo manoeuvre is about sacrifice NOT science.

We're all going to have to learn that the interpretations of Star Wars that we cling to, depend greatly upon the point of view of the YouTuber we listen to. I'm just trying to piece it together myself. This is the lesson.

"Were you afraid I was going to leave without giving you a goodbye kiss?" [Han] "I'd just as soon kiss a Wookie." [Leia] "I can arrange that. He could use a good kiss!" [Han] What happened next! Happy Birthday Carrie Fisher! 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

Carrie Fisher was born on this date, 21st October 1956. She would have been just 70 years old today. This line of dialogue, a spin on the line from The Force Awakens, was an ad-lib Carrie suggested to Rian. It's a lovely Leia/Luke moment. "I know what you're going to say - I changed my hair." 💙💙💙

Whilst this is true, it makes Star Wars MORE accessible and MORE relatable than ever to anyone who struggles with either a faith of any kind, or feels oppressed. Or is oppressed. The lesson of Christianity has guilt at its core. Star Wars is way more relatable and real than organised Religion.

Qui-Gon & Obi-Wan find Anakin in The Phantom Menace because they run out of fuel. Imagine today if any modern Star Wars film or show had such a lame ass lazy plot point. Oh it was "the will" of the Force. I'm being sarcastic. Kind of. I just wish people could judge all of Star Wars consistently. 💡💡💡

True Story. Bono on Trump. "I think this is the most extraordinary moment. I mean, I think this is the greatest heist in the history of the world: stealing America. And it's not a caper movie—it's real, and it's happening."

I love Benny Safdie. I have no idea what this is about which is exciting. It's nice to look forward to films that aren't franchise affairs. Digger didn't fail. As a movie I mean. Dwayne Johnson was spotted in Brooklyn on Tuesday shooting his new movie “Lizard Music” from director Benny Safdie.

I watched 2001 twice today. Just because I could. There aren't many movies that my imagination never ever gets bored of. It's always different because what's going on with me affects my interpretation of the film on that day. The Odyssey absolutely does this in abundance too for me. 💙💙💙

I just rewatched 2001: A Space Odyssey. Only now have I even realised the word "Odyssey". I call it 2001. If I'm thinking & saying I think The Odyssey is the greatest achievement in cinema since sliced bread I need to rewatch the best ones. 2001 is a favourite forever. The Odyssey still tops it.
