I used to love reading and playing games and watching movies. Now everything feels like too much effort. I really wish I cared about things or felt anything but a nagging dread that this is just it forever.

Hot Take: Exorcist: Believer wasn't a terrible movie. It was just pretty paint-by-numbers (as virtually all demonic possession movies are nowadays). But it didn't really do anything new or different, so it didn't do well, but it's a little disingenuous for it to be considered a 'bad' movie.

I've been eating a lot healthier & being more active lately in light of the new heart condition diagnosis, but the extreme fatigue & exhaustion of everything being so wild & fucked up for the last 9 months is really putting a damper on anything positive from the healthier choices.

Nothing is quite as demoralizing as finally getting your kid to bed after a long, brutal day, only to see a huge sink full of dishes. I'd fuckin cook in paper pots if those were real.

What if I don't want to be more resilient? What if I'm sick of always persevering and pushing through? What if I just want to let myself break and fall to pieces? Because I'm scared of what that means or what will happen. So on I'll trudge like a good little boy. Keep spinning the wheel, I guess.

I've been experiencing autistic shutdowns lately where my brain just fuckin hard reboots. It's scary when your mind just locks up on you like that. I feel like I'm breaking down toward burnout, but I can't have that. There's too much to do. Any tips from fellow autistics about how to push through?

The same people complaining about the scent trails in Wolverine played the entirety of the arkham games in detective mode and never said a word. This modern era of 'shit on everything before it even comes out' is exhausting.

My wife and I had another miscarriage and I've discovered I've inherited my father's genetic Afib condition... I'm really trying to hold it together, but it's tough...

Online discourse on just about anything is totally in the shutter right now... what i wouldn't give to just have one intelligent conversation with anyone about anything.

You always hear so much about all these strategies to build mental and emotional resilience. Did anyone ever think that maybe instead it would be a nice change of pace to make it so everything is NOT SO FUCKING HARD ALL THE GODDAMNED TIME?

Working on your mental health is a wild journey. Feeling simultaneously stronger and weaker because you're getting more in touch with your emotions and more honest, forgiving, kind, and patient with yourself is harrowing. You tear down something that wasn't working to build something new.

"How do you know if it's just regular diarrhea or if you've got that parasite that's going around?" "That's my secret, Cap. I've always got diarrhea." *turns around and shits pants

It's funny how the stereotype is that nerds/gamers are all big overweight people, while simultaneously, all of the cool clothes featuring nerdy stuff RARELY goes over 2XL. Just kidding, it's not funny. It's annoying. And God forbid you're also tall...

Any people with expendable income need a "dad" for the next 30ish hours? Because it's father's day tomorrow and the new Marvel magic set just came out, sooooooo......

Living in the Omaha Metro these past 10 years, I've determined that no one here actually gives a shit who wins or loses in the College World Series. It's just BASEBALL. As long as BASEBALL is happening, the people will clap.

To the tiktok people opening a ton of Magic cards.... Whatcha doin' with all that bulk? Got a lot of doubles or extras? Bet that's taking up a lot of space... bet you wish there was someone who actually played that would be willing to take all that clutter off your hands.... maybe..

A vast majority of people on the internet are farming for clicks and engagement and will say anything to make that happen, right down to the shittiest/bad faith takes. And we, generally, have lost the ability to distinguish from that nonsense and legitimate discourse. It's rough out there.

I have a severe lack of people to play TCGs with. Pokemon TCG Live and MtG: Arena are BEYOND sweaty and absolutely zero fun. I PICKED CASUAL FOR A REASON, STOP PITTING ME AGAINST SWEATY TRY-HARDS WITH DEEP POCKETS.

You know what's fun? Getting a bunch of work done around the house, then getting chastised for the one thing you didn't get done. It's almost like the rest of the stuff you did doesn't even matter. SO MUCH FUN.

Cook Food? Now there's a huge pile of dishes. Wear Clothes? Huge pile of laundry. Literally everything I do feels like it incurs another five monotonous tasks in its wake & I'm just fuckin tired, man. I don't wanna DO ALL THIS SHIT ALL THE TIME. I just wanna sit down and breathe goddammit.

Life us a fucking scam and I'm kinda sick of it, tbh. I'm "fine" and safe or whatever. I just got an avalanche of stupid bullshit thrown at me and would very much like to just fuck off into the wilderness forever.

Getting (maybe) exposed to rabies caused me to be more contemplative over the past few days. I feel like my creativity has gone away from where it once was & I don't know how to find that spark again. Life just feels so busy now that all my spare time goes to resting instead of creating.

My therapist told me part of my recent heavy depressive episode is because I addressed my spending addiction issue & since I'm no longer getting dopamine hits from buying stuff, my brain is protesting by making everything seem awful & robbing me of my joy until I give it what it's used to... LISTEN

Any fellow autistic folks out there have recommendations on watches? No metal bands (preferably cloth) .No huge face. Part of my issue with watches is that the faces are so chonky it really yucks my yum. I essentially want a watch for the function, but don't want to FEEL like I'm wearing a watch.

Cooking pro tip: If you've got a seasoning mix you use for tacos (beef, chicken, pork, whatever), throw a little cinnamon in there. Trust me. Cinnamon has won me two chili cookoffs.

You ever wake up and just not give one single fuck about anything? I wish it were possible to just sleep all day until this passes, but alas, I physically cannot sleep in past 6:00am anymore. So then I just spend the whole day drifting around like some kind of melancholy ghost.

They need to quit saying shit like "It takes several months/years to recover from chronic burnout!" unless they plan on dramatically shifting US labor policy to let people take that much paid sick time without losing their jobs. Otherwise, it's just making worse knowing & being unable to fix it.

This is the most intense depressive episode I've had in a very long time and it's kicking my ass HARD. I'm safe, and in that regard, I'm 'okay' but I'm not okay (if that makes sense). I've just got no energy, I don't care about anything and everything just feels terribly meh... I hate this.

For the last 9 months, I feel I've been robbed of my joy. I can't get into reading, even with old favorites. Games are hit/miss, no movies or shows feel good. Most nights, I get home & just sit & scroll & wait for bed. I want to care again, but I don't. I'm just listless & tired. I've lost my spark.

Back on antidepressants again because I'm finally ready to admit that I can't dig myself out of this hole and heal without help. My therapy alone hasn't been able to get me out. Which I'm bummed about. I was doing pretty well for about a year. But it's okay. It'll be okay. I have hope.
