My feet aren't *that* big, but I do seem to have maxed out the available in-store size range for M&S slippers. Tootsies the size of brontosaurus surfboards, apparently.

Still two months to go, but been a stellar year for telly. Not just new shows (DTF St Louis, Widow's Bay) but: a) worthwhile revisits of some 2010s standouts (Broad City, Portlandia), and b) my first ever viewing of some wholehearted 90s/00s classics (Northern Exposure, Corner Gas)

Given that nearly all elections nowadays are extremely close battles against cartoonish supervillains, we should be able to press a button to skip to the results screen.

October 25, 1938: Archbishop of Dubuque (Iowa), Francis J. L. Beckman, denounces Swing music as "a degenerated musical system... turned loose to gnaw away at the moral fiber of young people", warning that it leads down a "primrose path to hell."

Thanks to the game's extensive customization options, did you know there are 1.2981 × 10¹²⁷⁹ possible soda machine designs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons?

Another bonkers week of (PlayStation) releases I'll simply never have time to catch up with: Neon Abyss 2, Deep Rock: Survivor, Hellraiser, Echo Weaver, Deck of Haunts, Forever Ago, Silver Pines, Galactic Racer, Metal Suits, Minecraft Dungeons 2, and and and at least I found time for Toem 2.

In my case, this isn't a discovery issue - I am finding this stuff just fine. But these are all games I would gladly spend time and money on, it's just I have none of those things left.

As someone born in 1977, earliest scares were: 1) Clash Of The Titans, 2) the TV movie of Tarka The Otter, 3) Music video for Rockit by Herbie Hancock, jfc

In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child?

Roll platinum* on Toem 2, gorgeous little game. Playing the original via PS Plus a few years back made me day-one on the sequel purchase, and still as lovely as ever. (* was just the one, final unlockable outfit that I had to I look up online)

That's a wrap on Resident Evil Requiem. It was *fine*? Felt like it was aiming for a greatest hits compilation, but ended up with a decent remix album. The fact that I didn't want to immediately restart another run-through was pretty surprising.

Remains a fascinating series re: the ways it's trying to service three whole decades. Still saving at typewriters and healing through daft herbalism serves a certain campness, but how much should it keep holding on to, going into its fourth decade?

The WhatsApp group for the building I live in is currently at war with itself: Half of people begging the landlord to put the heating on else they will *literally die*, the other half actually dying from four months of living in flats struggling to bring things down below 30 degrees.

Lots of attention goes to Milka and Ritter Sport in the German chocolate stakes, but also: Definitely grab a bag of Knusper Flocken, if you're ever able. They most certainly aren't aesthetic, but goodness, just wait until you get a gob-load.
