I wound up my two college aged voters for social justice and this vote!

CD5 DFL@cd5dfl.bsky.social

We are proud to have Representative Cedrick Frazier represent the DFL on the ballot this year for Hennepin County Attorney. He is the only DFL-endorsed candidate in this race, and we encourage all Hennepin County DFLers to vote for him on or before November 3rd!

This is huge. So many families could be due breaks and it is “just complicated enough” to need to give some of that to a preparer. I’d much rather have it go all to the family eligible for assistance.

It shouldn't be difficult to get the money you're owed. On day 34 of our administration, we launched NYC Free Tax Prep for the 2026 filing season. So far, it’s saved New Yorkers $226.6 million. Visit nyc.gov/TaxPrep to find a Free Tax Prep site near you.

The PWHL Takeover game is at LCA tomorrow, so some of the players are holding a youth clinic at the Red Wings practice facility. In this case, though, the kids are the Polar Bears 60-plus senior women's team.

Let me tell you a tale of how completely the normies have been mobilized. My 14 year-old niece has done School of Rock for the past 5 years; last summer she was part of their touring band, and the kids loved playing together so much that they decided to keep doing it. (1/?)

Today is raccoon day where anything of value is cleared from the fridge and pantry before tomorrow’s “back to routine” shop. My evidence for today “crisp cookies”. Thin shortbread from a holiday basket that weren’t of value till the end of the holiday!

Proud former Minnesotan. Somali immigrants have been welcomed and naturalized. Keep going fellow citizens.

Ilhan Omar@ilhanmn.bsky.social

I am a citizen and so are majority of Somalis in America. Good luck celebrating a policy change that really doesn’t have much impact on the Somalis you love to hate. We are here to stay 💁🏽‍♀️

We should not be surprised where America is now, after all, there was a time white men wouldn’t allow white women to have anything “without permission”.

Since the Ezra & Ta-Nehisi discussion is still happening: the main point I think most are missing is that Klein is saying the role of the journalist-intellectual is to do strategic politics, whereas Coates says the role of the journalist-intellectual is to tell the truth

Am enjoying mine! Grateful to have solid EV options.

Polestar 3 sets a Guinness World Record for longest drive by a production electric SUV—581.3 mi (935.4 km) on one charge. Achieved in the UK with a single-motor RWD model at 12.1 kWh/100 km. It’s the SUV champ, though the Lucid Air sedan still holds the overall EV record at 749 mi (1,205 km). #EVs

In this commentary, @dbrauer.net makes the argument that Saturday's mayoral endorsement does matter, and that it punches a hole in Frey's air of inevitability. Brauer writes in response to our editor Patrick's newsletter saying endorsement means very little. minnesotareformer.com/2025/07/24/t...

Del Monte Foods, the nearly 140-year-old company whose canned fruits and vegetables have long been grocery store staples, has filed for bankruptcy as it grapples with mounting debt, post-pandemic headwinds and shifts in consumer spending.

Brilliant. For minds that don’t always follow the plot, The Onion is a really good plot to follow!

Ben Collins@bencollins.bsky.social

I got permission to share this, and I'm extremely grateful for that. The Onion got this letter from one of our subscribers in Alaska. She works with dementia patients and decided to leave a copy in the car for each one. This email made my year. Read it and you'll see what I mean. People are good.

Today's Planned Parenthood decision was a devasting blow to women, and it wasn't even about abortion. It was a devasting blow to civil rights, and it wasn't even about Civil Rights. It's one of the worst decisions from this SCOTUS, worse than you probably think. www.thenation.com/article/soci...

The tangible absence of poverty. LFG!

Matt Parreira@mattparreira.bsky.social

Let's reframe our entire conversation on what makes a community safe. It's not the visible presence of enforcement, but the tangible absence of poverty. The clearest path to get there is through commitments to affordable housing and high-quality public education for everyone. EVERYONE.

On a day that started with political violence this is incredible! I attended a smaller local protest and appreciated the action and community.

Indivisible Twin Cities@indivistwincities.bsky.social

The day started with tragedy with political violence in MN and instead of being scared, neighbors SHOWED UP to stand together at No Kings Twin Cities. We packed the Capitol Mall all the way to the Cathedral. Estimate 80,000+ right now. So proud of our state. #nokings #indivisible

As YOU wish! Pride Month is on the way and it’s even more important than ever to support our friends. Honestly? It’s always *INCONCEIVABLE* to me that anyone would/could hate (let alone persecute) anyone for who they love. The world needs all the love it can get. Protect! #lgbt #ally #pridemonth

Fed Chair Powell graduation remarks to Princeton nod toward our current predicament: "Look around you. I urge you to take none of this for granted. When you look back in 50 years, you will want to know that you have done whatever it takes to preserve and strengthen our democracy."

I want to see what happens when companies do hire a CEO at some fixed ratio to worker salary. Take the cheap option and see what happens! I’ll bet talented people will do the job for less.

Robert Reich@rbreich.bsky.social

CEO pay is up 1,085% since 1978, while typical worker pay is up just 24%.  Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

And the success of work mandates.

So instead of trade deals he’s just going to publicly negotiate with himself until he walks back the tariffs? We get a couple of months of supply chain shock and nothing to show for it besides damaged relationships across the world.

NEW: Minnesota’s graduation rate just reached the highest level on record. Two years ago, we made the single-largest investment in public schools in state history.   Today, we’re seeing the results.

I think I need to get off Minneapolis BlueSky until this Hold Steady residency is over. Glad they and their music make so many people happy, but I must not have enough Edina raised Dad energy to appreciate.
