Congratulations to @zackpolanski.bsky.social for a strong showing in a constituency which has been solidly Labour since its inception. That's not a loss.

It seems that what I wrote here has been completely misconstrued. It was not some sort of support of Zionism. I was simply stating a fact, which explains why the US is so supportive of Israel because of the influence of the religious right. There are 20-50 million Christian Zionists in the US.
There are far more Christian Zionists, than there are Jewish people, and a lot of Jewish people aren't Zionists. Also, Christian Zionism pre-dates Jewish Zionism by a lot. Both Christian and Jewish Zionists believe in the same thing, for different reasons. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christi... 1/2
@theguardian.com This is a very misleading and unfortunate headline, giving the misleading impression that it was a good year for insects. What it's really about was an influx of species from Continental Europe because of the hot weather. www.theguardian.com/environment/... 1/2
Odd this. Racist, far right violent thugs are treated as people with genuine concerns, but those peacefully protesting against genocide, and a lack of climate action are terrorists. To say this is extremely Orwellian, is understatement,
80 year-olds with pro-Palestine signs: arrested as terrorists. Greens planning to block a road, to highlight an existential crisis: sent down for years. Masked far-right thugs blocking roads and ports, using intimidation, obstruction & threatening behaviour: no arrests. The real two-tier policing.

Hugely wishful thinking If emissions peak by 2040 and fall rapidly, research shows we might get away with 'just' a reprise of the Pliocene ~ 3C higher temperatures and sea level eventually 15 - 25m higher If they don't, it will be worse - much worse www.theguardian.com/environment/...
My thread response to @georgemonbiot.bsky.social on one page, about the absurdity of claiming we can just adapt to climate change, without mitigating climate change itself, by phasing out fossil fuel burning. It takes ecological ignorance to believe we can adapt. skywriter.blue/@steb77.bsky...
This refusal of European political leaders to say climate change during this year's heatwaves, gave me a real sense of déjà vu. It is so like the refusal to say genocide, during a genocide. It's obviously from the same playbook, gaslighting 101. www.theguardian.com/world/2026/a...
If Nigel Farage was a true patriot and lover of the British Empire, he'd tell Trump, that the US had to re-submit to British rule, as they broke away illegally, using terrorism. That Trump had to swear an oath of allegiance to King Charles. MBGA www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

Everyone needs to listen to this brief speech by Greta Thunberg at the All Together Now, festival in Ireland. It is short but profound, and I endorse everything Greta says. Let us all act on it. @svantethunberg.bsky.social www.instagram.com/reel/Dbf77dx...
"Nigel Farage has said he would, “don khaki, pick up a rifle and head for the front lines” if Theresa May fails to deliver Brexit in the fashion he wants." Farage hypocritically claims to be concerned about politicians who incite violence. Yet he often has. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli... 1/2
Anyone remember, the Farage riots? The T-shirt he is complaining about never mentioned Farage. There are a lot of Nigels in the country. www.theguardian.com/politics/art... 2/2

Undoubtedly, this beautiful piece by Aurora is also about her loss, although she has never said it. Aurora is an extraordinary artist, who uses her music and profile, to promote peace, concern for the victims of violence, in Gaza etc, and the climate crisis. youtu.be/efKvphRDXUg?... 3/4
Aurora wrote this environmentalist classic, The Seed, at the time of the first climate strikes, marches. youtu.be/_Mc_OM5oNA8?... 4/4
Listen to Aurora's heartbreaking live performance of The Little Boy in the Grass, knowing what the song is about, and how she lost someone very close to her. The right falsely claim that the left are violent and terrorists, but this massacre exposes the truth. youtu.be/1kiV704Nd_I?... 2/4
They say, madness is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different result. Do not expect any mainstream politician to ever do anything to change our corrupt, life destroying system. A good test is wealth tax. If a politician won't openly advocate a wealth tax, they're corrupt.

See my thread on one page about how for the last 54 years no government or mainstream politician, will take any meaningful action to address the ecological and climate emergency, despite repeatedly promising to do so. skywriter.blue/@steb77.bsky...

Hard to think of a more deeply damaging start to Burnham’s premiership than giving green light to new oil & gas in N. Sea, if true. It won’t lower bills or lead to greater energy security but will drive an even hotter planet. What a terrible signal to give to rest of the world #ClimateVandalism
I totally agree, but feel this is much deeper than an Andy Burnham problem. This goes right back to the first 1972 UN Environment Conference where governments promised action on the them emerging ecological crisis, and then failed to take any of the action promised. 1/6
Deeply irresponsible. We're in a climate crisis. This is such a terrible start. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

"Burnham will promise to undo Thatcher’s economic legacy in first speech as Labour leader" Does this mean Burnham is going to end the neoliberalism secretly introduced by Thatcher, and continued with every PM, including Labour PMs since? www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli... 1/2
I use the term secret, not to be all conspiracy theory, but it was never announced neoliberal doctrine had been introduced, and since then, every government around the world, has slavishly followed it, as if there is no other way, gaslighting. @georgemonbiot.bsky.social youtu.be/gR4eSEetKP0 2/2

This sort of public speculation by the police about the motive for a murder is highly unusual. Usually, we only learn about the views and motives of a lone killer, or someone who perpetrated a violent attack, at their trial and afterwards. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026... 1/2
It's funny how the media and Nigel Farage, are a lot less keen to remember, Anne Widdecome's passionate anti-fox hunting views. As far as I know, she never changed her views about it. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_poli...
"Farage refused taxpayer-funded security because it was ‘inadequate’" From what I've seen, Farage uses his so-called security detail, as a bunch of heavies to intimidate reporters and hecklers, and this is nothing about real security. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...
This is true. Farage has no respect at all, for Anne Widdecombe, because of the shameless way he has been using her tragic death, for political propaganda reasons. There are no depths too low for him to sink. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...
