Phantom Blade Zero is one of the best Action RPGs I have ever played, with fluid combat and some of the best animations I have seen in any game. However, I would not play this on the #SteamDeck. A copy was provided by S-Game for review.

Here are 5 games that are worth playing on your #SteamMachine that can hit 4K 60 FPS:

steamdeckhq.com5 Games We Can Play at 4K 60 FPS On Steam MachineHere are 5 games that are worth playing on your Steam Machine that can hit 4K 60 FPS. If you haven’t yet, follow us on X (Twitter), Mastodon, or Bluesky to know when we post new articles, and join our Reddit or Subscribe to us on YouTube to check out our content and interact with our awesome community. Thank you for supporting us! When Valve first announced the Steam Machine, one of its big marketing pushes was that it could run games at 4K. Granted, they also said this used FSR upscaling, but it was still something they claimed. But as people got their hands on the Machine and tested it, not many games actually ran comfortably at 4 K. It was a little disappointing, and Valve did ultimately change the wording on the store page, but it made us think that the Machine would be punching much higher than it is. However, that doesn’t mean that there aren’t any games that run at 4K on the Steam Machine. And in this new series, we are going to go over all the games we can find that are actually able to run at 4K resolution and 60 FPS, and if there are any concessions that can be made to facilitate that. We may also need to compromise graphics quality or framerate to ensure stable performance, which we will go over in detail. However, at the end of the day, every game here can run at 4K 60 FPS. PRAGMATA When I first reviewed PRAGMATA, I praised its optimization for how well it runs on the Steam Deck. I stand by that, and I would consider it incredible on the Steam Machine. We do need to make some sacrifices, like putting Mesh Quality to Low, turning off Screen Space Reflections, and using FSR 3 at Ultra Performance, but it does keep the game at 60 FPS and we are upscaling to 4K. There are some hitch here and there, but they are caused when looking around regardless of the settings. With FSR 3, I found the upscaling ugly, and this is probably one of the few times where I would recommend using HelixSR. This is an injector for DLSS 3.7 upscaling, giving us better quality than FSR 3 and better performance than FSR 4. It’s a great middle ground, and with PRAGMATA, it gives us the performance needed with a visual quality facelift. We will have a guide on how to install HelixSR coming tomorrow, so if you aren’t sure how to get it set up, we got you. HelixSR Ultra Performance If you’re looking at Disgaea 5, you would probably say this is another obvious choice. However, since this game is so good, and still holds up, I still wanted to test it. The game runs perfectly at 4K, and feels like an incredible JRPG to enjoy. With how well it runs on the Steam Deck, this is one of those games that is great to play between both devices, allow us to take it portably while also enjoy enjoying it in glorious Ultra HD on the TV. Now, we can move away from some of the more obvious games. The original Dishonored runs perfectly at 4K resolution on the Steam Machine. At the highest quality settings, I was able to enjoy sneaking around and fighting in 60 FPS. It was smooth and felt great, and still feels nostalgic to play. I love the game, so I’m overjoyed at how well it runs. With PAYDAY 2 removing support for Linux, I also wanted to test how the game is running on the Steam Machine. To my delight, it runs very well. I tested the game in multiple heists on the Mayhem difficulty, and it was able to hold up at the default settings in 4K. So, I’m fairly confident that it will be able to be fully playable this way, though there may be greater difficulties that require turning down some settings. Regardless, I don’t see it being a problem to be playable this way. Iron Nest Iron Nest is a new simulator where you have to manage a turret and hit the marks that command requests. It’s a fantastic game, and can be played at 60 FPS on the Steam Machine. There are two ways play Iron Nest at 60 FPS, but I only prefer one of them. We can play at Medium quality with FSR on Balanced, and while it works, it does have flickering from the upscaling. Personally, I preferred playing on the Very Low quality without any upscaler. It is missing some detail, but the image overall looked way more stable. It’s playable at 60 FPS either way, but the more stable image won out for me. Very Low no FSR And those are five games you can play right now at 4K 60 FPS on the Steam Machine. All of them are wonderful and worth enjoying on the Machine, especially at the high resolutions. And with it being so performant, you could bring the resolution down to 2K or 1080p and bump the quality up much higher. However, for those who are using their Machine with 4K TVs, we can confirm that these 5 games will be great on the bigger screen.
