It has happened! Standard Schema v1 is out! 🧩

BIG DAY 😇 Introducing Standard Schema! It’s a specification for a standard interface to be implemented by TypeScript schema libraries. The goal is to make it easier for frameworks and tools to accept user-defined schemas, without writing separate adapters for different libraries. standardschema.dev

Every time I try to setup a monorepo with SST and React Native it's been super painful. There's a lot of gotchas with setting up the config for react native, but once it works its all worth it. 👌🏻

In case you've got overwhelmed by the AWS re:Invent announcements, here's a great summary of things you definitely need to be aware of! ✨ Created by Ian McKay & visually prepared by Eduardo Rabello 🪄

@dmytrokrasun.com At work we were using your screenshot product, but to save costs we tried rolling our own, and I just have to say I have a new respect for your product. I would say it wasn't too hard to get it working like 70% of the time, but that other 30% can be challenging.

My next step with Tinybird is to figure out how to codify all of the setup steps so that I can call them in my CI pipeline. I want to spin up my data source, pipes, and views without the UI. #techsky

Overall I’m excited because we haven’t been able to ask any analytical questions of our data, and now we have a relatively easy way forward #techsky

My initial impression is that it’s pretty cool. I was able to ingest my single table design DynamoDb table. I started learning how to create materialized views to split my different entities from the single table data source. #techsky

I’ve also changed my opinion a lot on building with lambda function. I used to believe that every lambda function needed to serve a single purpose. Now we’re just using overloading a lambda function using Hono API, and I’m never looking back.

Also I love using DynamoDb, especially with the ElectroDb typescript ORM, but I desperately need some managed service for helping me migrate my schemas. I spend too much time just trying to figure out how I’m gonna make sure my migration scales appropriately, and I would love some service to do this

We’ve been building this with Expo, SST on AWS, and Astro for our content site. I remember starting here just being overwhelmed by different pieces of our tech stack, but I think we’re creating something pretty unique.

Ideally our app would be useful to anyone that runs a business, and needs to close a sale. We’ve put a lot of time and effort into building out our “content’ section of our app which allows users to create documents, upload videos, images, and other assets.

What I love about my job, and the app we are building is that we’re trying to tackle a huge scope of features. We are effectively trying to compete with several existing apps that are all operating in different domains, but create one unified experience for it. All on mobile.

Anyone interested in content around using AWS with react native? Ive been working a lot with SST in AWS and I don’t think there’s much info on using SST with react native

You are up to date.
