In my teens - I will be famous! In my 20s - I will be rich! In my 30s - I will be happy. In my 40s - I will get a good night's sleep. In my 50s - I will grow a carrot.

Man, I Love David Attenborough, but I can't deal with another beautiful documentary series about how badly we're fucking up. I can feel his deep and disappointed scowl.

I understand that games and books must advertise themselves before I can buy them. I get it. Pre-orders etc. But also I yell "Fuck you!" out loud when I see an ad for a thing I love only to find out it's coming in 3 or 6 or 8 fucking months. I love you, unobtainable media. But I also hate you.

The distance between how cool AI bros think they are and how pathetic the rest of us think they are is unfathomably vast, and growing. Maybe a few of them will fall into it...

The self-published book industry has been utterly nuked by AI. While self-published books were never much to write home about, you'd occasionally find a good one.

... when it's so clear that the word-guessing machine did it for them. And it's doubly obvious when they show the actual level of their language skills in their angry replies and promotional material. If you can't guess, it's shit.

I don't know how empty your soul has to be to claim that something you paid an AI to ghost-write for you is "yours" but there's clearly millions of people out there with empty souls. So farewell, self-publishing. It was nice knowing you, for that brief droplet of time.

The self-published book industry has been utterly nuked by AI. While self-published books were never much to write home about, you'd occasionally find a good one.

But now there is an avalanche of so-called "authors" promoting the books that they "wrote", all displaying the same teflon monotony, icily perfect grammar, oceans of em-dashes, and utter lack of soul. And these "authors" are shameless in insisting they wrote them...

We need a new "Are you are robot?" to prevent AI bots from scraping our websites. Perhaps require visitors to write a LinekdIn post that isn't incredibly fucking boring.

If you want to know what working in IT is like in 2026 picture the most boring people in your company saying the word "agentic" over and over until the end of time.

I don't know how people manage to read AI-written posts. My eyes and mind glaze over the moment I see there's no human intention behind the text, that it was assembled by the most-likely-word machine. Stop, people. I know it FEELS like writing, but it isn't. Just say what you want to say. In words.

I loved the World War Z movie. I re-watched it yesterday since I've seen loads of people saying it was shit, just to check. No, still great. I suspect those people were mostly "THE BOOK WAS SO MUCH BETTER" people. Obviously Israel being nice to Arabs was unbelievable, but otherwise it was solid.

Bit of an annoying result in the Swedish election but bright points are that the ruling alliance appears to have lost their majority and the populist nationalist anti-science angry man's moron party Swedish Democrats dropped from over 20% to 17.7% (ish). So fuck them, the brown-shirted fucks.

In my job as a tech writer I am so sick of subject matter experts sending me AI-made articles. Even badly phrased, poorly constructed, mumbly human-made drivel is better, since I know there's intention behind it, and I can dig it out. An AI article is teflon garbage. A glacier of nothingness.

Made a new batch of deo and I'm testing scent combos. The numbers are drops of essential oil: 1 - 12 vanilla; 12 patchouli-wood; 12 orange blossom 2 - 12 vanilla; 12 musk; 12 orange blossom 3 - 8 vanilla; 8 musk; 8 orange blossom; 8 patchouli-wood 4 - 16 musk; 16 orange blossom

Curious to see what wins. Orange blossom is a surprisingly good scent when combined with other things.Vanilla is always good but can be overpowering and make you smell of chocolate.

"People will watch any old crap on social media but they won't stay for just 30 seconds to appreciate my real and heartfelt-" Sorry mate, I had a cat video to watch.

Do I like getting followers? Yes. Will I block anyone who follows me who is clearly selling something / an OF girl / an AI pusher / has zero posts? Also yes.

Amazing how a presentation from a "wellness expert" can leave some of us gasping at the sheer awfulness of the bullshit and multiple scientific errors and lies on display, but leave others in the same room thinking, wow, that was a fantastic talk, I must take this man's advice!
