EVERYONE SHOULD PLAY THE COMETROX DEMO IMMEDIATELY rhythm game you play holding your keyboard like a guitar. idk how else to describe its vibe other than "evokes the kinda cool import stuff you'd see on the DS that is your favorite artist's favorite game" store.steampowered.com/app/4970850/...

I have been meaning to write about this for a month or so now but it breaks my heart. AI has infected every hobby. Everything is noise. It's hurting existing communities and trudging through the slop is exhausting.

Every single hobby I love has has been infected by slopped up and unserious software. It's exhausting. aftermath.site/ai-slop-hobbie...

control resonant really needs a zoom button or a first person camera because instead of doing anything important i'm spending all my time trying to look at storefront textures

Got fired from my day job that was keeping me not completely drowning so I guess I'm throwing out a message in a bottle with the below example and a link to my portfolio: goodbye.computer So like, if your company has a project coming up that needs this sort of skill-set, I am available now.

had a bad allergic reaction to a new medication i'd started so i've just been covered in hives the last two days. 2am here and haven't been able to sleep tonight yet. been taking allergy medicine but its not helping as much as i'd like. but if i'm lucky this might be sorted out by monday..

surprisingly, the steam frame is actually cheaper here than valve's last headset. in australia the index was only ever available through EB Games and they marked it up a ton, to the point where i'm surprised anyone actually bought it. i still wish the frame was cheaper but it could be worse

i have a second version of that i wanted to post, but if i put both versions in one post it'd crop the previews to fit for that and kinda spoil it. and if i stick it in a reply its kinda hidden away. so ill post that one later

This has been standard on Steam in the UK for a while now. I do not have a credit card. NOBODY in my family does. It's debit cards all round. Several major streamers I know also do not have credit cards. We are all apparently unable to prove that we are over 18. I am over goddamn forty.

Steam is asking Australians to verify they're adults by linking a credit card, something millions of Australians don't have: aftermath.site/steam-is-askin...

im so excited about the direction videogames are going in!!!

Salem 🏳️‍⚧️@salem-bitch-trials.bsky.social

this is the inevitable result of years of games focused entirely on fidelity and players being afraid to miss things or fail so now we get games that are the equivalent of a dog thats been bred to emphasize all its cutest traits but now it can barely breathe or move around and u just feel bad for it

Remember when the government was rushing through its social media age ban that every expert said wouldn't work and they kept reassuring everyone it wouldn't apply to videogames or videogame websites?

This Week in Videogames - TWIV@thisweekinvideogames.com

Steam has implemented age verification measures for Australian customers, restricting them from purchasing or even viewing titles that carry a local age rating of R18+. Currently, the one and only method of age verification is linking a supported credit card to a Steam account.
