SULU: The captain really must be going mad if he thinks he can get away with an execution. CHEKOV: Captain Kirk wouldn't order an execution even if he were going mad. That cannot be the captain. SULU: What difference does it make who he is? Are we going to allow an execution to take place?

#StarTrekVOY "Through The Valley" To traverse a terrifying region of space, the crew refit Voyager to look like one of the native space-born creatures. When a transporter accident splits Harry into two people, Janeway demotes each of them to halfnsigns.

Everyone who is saying "Dems in red states have to throw trans people under the bus to win" -- no. They don't. When they do that, we just start with no winning options on the table. It gives in to the fascist premise that we get to decide some groups don't get rights. THIS is what I want to see.

Kansas Dem Sen. nominee Adam Hamilton on trans rights: “I don’t think we should take a small group of people and bully them, pick on them, and hurt them. I understand one thing really clearly when it comes to transgender people, and that is Jesus told me I was to love my neighbor as I love myself”

My wife won't watch Voyager anymore because every time something bad happens she hears me whispering "seeesssskaaa" whether I whisper it or not.

excuse me Gail but Nimoy's career defining role was as Dr. Barry Mayfield. A murderous surgeon who actually makes Columbo lose his temper.

Sandy came by to check on us. It's been almost a year since we captured and neurwered him for release. It's getting colder so he's probably checking on his clients. We give him a flea treatment every month or so.

The ad somehow accepts the fact this this narrative will turn off all women and even men who aren't creepy nerds, and then rolls with it. Know your audience, I guess...

Not exaggerated -

The first genuinely honest ad for generative AI I've ever seen, from Microsoft / CoPilot A mediocre white guy sees his non-white colleague getting praised for good work, he asks AI to *literally copy it*, and then he gets all the praise instead: www.ispot.tv/ad/SoDi/micr...

I was wondering why I hadn't heard anyone yelling at Sam Harris for a while and found out it's because he's boring. Like, I *knew* he was boring in that weird fashy kind of way but that's why we yelled at him. He retreated to his own podcast where he has control and people don't yell at him (boring)

Now that FB answers posts with other posts, why would anyone "engage" with FB? I saw a question about "Do you need special equipment to test vacuum tubes" and instead of waiting for someone to pipe up with a variable DC power supply, the past answer posts were underneath.
