Way ahead, but I'll be doing some shows in Germany next Spring, details at sofasound.com

The lyrics for the new album, "Tears in Tiime", are now up at sofasound.com

So… today is the release day for my latest album I’ll do my best to put up some info at the sofasound sites next week - but right now I’m on my way to Poland for shows in krakow and Warsaw

For those interested who may have missed this, the Prog Prom at which I sang last weekend will be broadcast on BBC4 tonight at 7pm.

In this toxic world how great to have #onlyconnect back, with a couple of great teams to start the series

Quite a long way ahead, but time to announce that there'll be a new solo album, "Tears in Time", released on Esoteric on 25th September.

Happy to say I'll be doing solo shows in Poland (Krakow and Warsaw) and Italy (Roma, Livorno, Torino, Padova and MIlano) later in the year as well as the Asker one. Details at www.sofasound.com

Well, gulp, I'm going to be singing a VdGG tune with orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall Prog Prom on July 18th....

I'm now back from another lovely weekend in Gouveia. Very happy to play there again. Belated apologies for not announcing this show. I was embargoed from doing so until I was officially announced - and by the time I knew I had been the festival was sold out. Anyway, a great event.

Time for a Van der Graaf Generator photo. Trieste Summer 2009. Gorgeous gig this was. #VdGG

Bizarre, I know, but I'm hosting a three hour radio show here later today, at the instigation of my old friend Howard Thompson.... 8pm UK time or catch up FRIDAY November 21st, 3pm (EST) "PURE Presents Peter Hammill" WPKN, Bridgeport, CT - 89.5fm on your radio, or wpkn.org on the ’net

While toshiro mifune was ever BRAAAH! there was always a disturbing stillness about tatsuya nakadai’s performances. Vale.

Just to be clear I do not post on or interact with any Facebook groups. Anyone claiming to be me on there is a scammer.

What??? @onlyconnect.bsky.social booted off bbc2,for football?!!?

Ah, this should have been the pic from the rfh home!

And this was home last night Guess I’ll be twiddling my thumbs for awhile now. Thanks to everyone for 3 great shows.

The good meal, by myself

I’ve just put up a post at www.sofasound.com about various bits of news. Less than a week to go now before the start of my uk mini-tour. Roll up, roll up, who knows when (or if) the next one will be!

Jim Christopulos' film documenting the VdGG show at the Beacon, NYC, '76 goes online tonight. This marries newly found footage with audio and together with stills, eyewitness testimony and reminiscence it paints a graphic picture of the event. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gPT... from 18.00 UK time.

It wouldn’t have been right for siraj to be on the losing side today And 2-2 is a proper result from one of the truly great series

Some pretty major news. On 26th Spetember Universal are putting out a Box Set: "Peter Hammill - the Charisma and Virgin recordings 1971-86". This brings together all my early albums in an 18 cd, 2 blu-ray collection. Really quite a thing! More info, including pre-order links, at Sofasound.com

Spare a thought for Geoff Dyer, writer and noted Peter Hammill fan. He's giving a lecture at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on the same evening that PH is playing the Festival Hall next door. With luck he'll be able to wrap up the lecture early doors and make it over to the RFH in time for the encores.

About time too you might say. In September/October I'll be doing my first solo UK shows since 2018. Details at sofasound.com

Ezra Collective. True music indeed.

Back home. Yay. COYB.

Yeah, nick clegg can definitely fuck off and keep on fucking off until we never hear from him again

Farewell David Thomas, top man and kindred spirit.

Whoops, I misspelled Jim Christopulos' name in my last post, apologies. And I should also mention Michael Boyce, who shot the original footage in 76. Once again, bravo all round!

Ok, here's something fairly extraordinary. Recently found 8mm footage has been married up with audio and it's now possible to see/hear 12 mins of VdGG at Massey Hall Toronto '76. Respect to Jim Christopolus for doing this. Enjoy: youtu.be/8y-NOSMG22c

Once again, home for the night

Home for tonight

Just to be clear I’ve been here for a long long time anticipating what was coming. From back when you needed an invite (thanks @t0nyyates.bsky.social ) and back then I invited others…. Oh well onwards we go….

Welcome to everyone who’s recently followed me after I’ve announced my exit from the other, cursed, place. I don’t post much, of course, but I’m here!

Post your favorite #DoctorWho, wrong answers only

Well fwiw I stand with jessphillipsmp.bsky.social What a foul world it is in which we’ve found ourselves

What a fantastic tour that was in Italia over the last 10 days. Great venues and a calm itinerary. Thanks to everyone who came, everyone who organised it.

Something else: a new version of "Incoherence" is released today on Esoteric. I've written about it at Sofasound.com where there's also a link to a more detailed post on my journal, sofasound.wordpress.com.
