A word from another branch of the SoCraTes family: It’s now just 5 weeks until SoCraTes UK begins in beautiful Oxfordshire and there are still a limited number of tickets available. There’s a long tradition of SoCraTes folk attending each others events, and SoCraTes UK would love to welcome you.

SoCraTes is a Training day, 2 days of Open Space - everybody gathering in the same room and creating the schedule for the day. Whether hands-on (workshops, ensemble-programming, code katas, hacking), discussions, or the proposal to learn a new topic. Be prepared to be surprised ;)

A common misunderstanding is that psychological safety is about feeling comfortable. It is not. It is about feeling safe enough to try things out and speak up. We are beyond excited that Gitte Klitgaard is joining us for training day. Signup now! A whole unconference weekend is waiting afterwards;)

We're happy to announce Matthew Plavcan for the Training day with "Red-Green-Refactor is Broken: Stop Going In Circles!". Join Matt in taking a critical eye towards RGR, examine an alternate model for explaining and teaching TDD, and use incremental, habit-based exercises to create TDD fluency.

The next edition of SoCraTes DE will be between the 27th - 30st August 2026. The agenda for each day is chosen by us, the participants, each morning. It's the ideal place if, for example, you'd like to practice a talk, share your favorite tool, or connect with other people in tech.

You are up to date.
