HUGE After conceding first, Crown Legacy’s Magic Smalls earns a PK for a nasty head to head collision inside the box. Legacy’s Hugo Mbongue slots it to the keeper’s left as Crew 2’s Luke Pruter guesses right. Legacy Equalize! 1-1 at 58’

We’re back at the Matthews Sportsplex for MLS NEXT Pro Conference Semifinal playoff action. The Second half started with a yellow card for the Legacy’s regular season leader in goal contributions, Nathan Richmond and a goal for Columbus Crew 2. Legacy 0-1 Crew at 55’

The Charlotte Independence are celebrating the team’s first-ever trophy, the 2026 USL League One Players’ Shield, today at Memorial Stadium. The Jacks secured the best record in the league and the #1 seed in the playoffs last week.

"Right now disappointed but trying to gather my thoughts and make sure that we give us a good chance in the last game against Denver. That's where my focus is right now." "It's not in our hands anymore but we have to do our job." - NC Courage head coach Mak Lind

As it stands, the NC Courage still control their playoff destiny, but they need two goals in 15 minutes tonight and a win against Denver next week to guarantee a berth. If they lose tonight, they MUST win next week and Seattle MUST lose or draw. Courage are up +6 on GD. #NWSL

Courage give up a goal. Luckily, Seattle drew so the Courage can't be eliminated tonight, but they don't want to leave Portland without points. Portland 1-0 Courage at 60'.

Last night's win is the first time since the establishment of Tepper Sports & Entertainment in 2018 that a TSE pro team won a playoff match in regulation at home. Charlotte FC have home and away playoff wins in penalty kicks only. Panthers have no playoff wins since 2018.

CROWN LEGACY ADVANCE TO THE EASTERN CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS! 2-1 win over RBNY II

Crown Legacy FC up 2-0 at the half in the MLS NEXT Pro playoffs. Should the scoreline hold, it will be Legacy’s second-ever playoff win, their first knockout tournament win at home, AND the first time a Tepper Sports & Entertainment pro team has won a playoff match at home.

Crown Legacy FC are 1-3 in knockout contests, and 0-2 at the Sportsplex. The last time they were in the Next Pro playoffs (2024), they won the East quarterfinal against Cincy II - their only playoff win to date - and lost to Philly II in the Semis. Will Sunday be different?

We’re giving away two tickets to tomorrow’s Carolina Ascent match celebrating the Superwomen of the Carolinas. The match is at 7:00 PM tomorrow at Memorial Stadium in Charlotte. To enter, make sure you’re subscribed to Soccer Sheet at SoccerSheet.com!

Charlotte win 3-2! Despite the win, Charlotte remain in 5th in the East. While they are tied with New England on points (46) and lead in goal difference (10 to 6), NE have one more win than the Crown.

Here's the core of the MOU between Hometown Soccer Holdings and the City of Columbia. "State of the art multi-use outdoor sports and entertainment venue" anchored by an affiliated (read: not independent) MLS NEXT Pro team. The best fit for that profile is Crown Legacy FC.

"Folks want to put a soccer stadium here, so I think that's a great thing for our community. Let's see where it goes." - Columbia Mayor Daniel J. Rickenmann The MOU with Hometown Soccer Holdings to build an MLS-affiliated soccer stadium in Columbia, S.C. passes unanimously.

Reporting (virtually) from the Columbia City Council meeting. A spokesperson for Carolina Core has confirmed their team is not moving. We are yet to hear back from Crown Legacy and ATL UTD 2. The team that moves will be an existing team.

There is a very interesting item on the Columbia, SC city council agenda for Tuesday Night. Soccer Sheet has reached out to multiple sources for comment. We suspect the tenant of the stadium to be an MLS NEXT Pro Team, but would they be an existing team or an indy?

With a 4-1 win over Briar United FC on Sunday, local #NPSL side Mint Hill FC advanced to round three of the 2027 US Open Cup qualifiers. However, the team’s website and Instagram have suddenly disappeared. Soccer Sheet is looking into it.

Portland Thorns star Sophia Wilson saw red yesterday for a pretty obvious hair pull. If the penalty is increased to two matches, she’ll miss the match when the Thorns host the NC Courage.

With tonight's 0-1 away win over Seattle Reign - their first at Lumen Field in 8 years - the NC Courage improve to 7th Place in the table and 13-11-3 (42 Points) on the season. Even with other #NWSL matches to play this weekend, they can't fall below the playoff line. Updated Sanchez Tracker:
