www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFc6... Back on the ZX Spectrum accelerator project! Made an emulator so I can test on PC instead of uploading to the hardware all the time. Added Mode7 layer effects, and better layer rotation with scrolling, plus sprite scaling+rotation. #retrogaming #zxspectrum #gamedev

I have a WebASM compiled version of the Pacman Championship Edition for Arduino UNO up now. It runs the exact same code as the Arduino, and looks pretty much identical! Well, almost... The Amber monitor is hard to beat though :) www.smashcat.org/pacman-ce/ #retrogaming #arduino #gamedev

Finished Pacman Championship Edition on the Arduino UNO 8-bit! All the extra animation is now in there, audio complete, tune actually sounds right :) Had 500 bytes left! All the Arduino games on my github: github.com/Smashcat/UNO... #retrogaming #gamedev #arduino www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaku...

Finished another game for the original Arduino Uno 8bit. Only needs a couple of resistors for video, and some buttons to play. I was sure I could cram it into the 32KB of flash on the Uno, and it fits! Using an amber CRT here for that lovely phosphor glow #retrogaming #arduino youtu.be/Ta_QJ2_47uc

Bit more progress on the ZX Spectrum accelerated game cartridge. Testing some game mechanics with placeholder graphics here, but it's coming together! I have a LOT planned for this! #zxspectrum #retrogaming #gamedev www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PTM...

Decided to finish Bioshock Burial at Sea Episode 2 finally. Maybe the most depressing ending to a game I've ever experienced. I must admit I really didn't enjoy this as much as the main games, or even Episode 1. The whole thing was depressing, honestly. #bioshock #gaming

www.youtube.com/watch?v=83UQ... Added a demo of sprite and particle collisions, and also Mode 7 test. These are accessed with hotkeys at any time in my test code, to check for regressions. Particles have basic physics, so can bounce and slide on the tilemap. All collisions are pixel-based. #gamedev

Low budget, but high effort! www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qy8... #StarWars #ANewHope

Just had to order parts for a new dev/gaming PC. It was so f-ing painful! Prices for RAM and M.2 drives are insane right now, and likely won't be coming down for a couple of years... #AIMakesEverythingWorse

New NEO GEO in 2026?! #neogeo #retrogaming plaionreplai.com/en-gb/pages/...

After almost twenty years on the platform, EFF is logging off of X. This isn’t a decision we made lightly, but it might be overdue. 🧵 (1/5) www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...

Well this seems like a perfectly coherent and well written statement from the president of the United States. Truly the best of the US... #trump #epstein #idiocrasy

01:50 on a Sunday morning, and finally finished clearing all of the DRC problems. Now the "fun" process of producing the BOM and fixing up the centroid file, and get these babies over to the PCB factory! #electronics #pcbdesign

... I then thought it might be cool to have a watch display that's larger than the screen, so wrote that :) Side-note, I was working on event installations at the time, and this display was an Easter Egg if you interacted with a screen in one of the London banks in the right way! #electronics

A while back I was designing a product to use this circular display. So just for fun, to "test my driver code" I wrote some watch designs for it (it was never used in a watch :) I always thought the idea of Pacman characters drawing the time would look cool :) #gaming #pacman #electronics #arduino

Just reverse engineering a proprietary adapter box that’s incredibly overpriced and probably has no real purpose beyond creating vendor lock in… #electronics #hacking

HUGE ICE LEAK - www.rawstory.com/ice-agents-d... Details of ICE agents and other employees now being released in batches on offshore site that Trump regime is trying to take down. Includes photos, linkedIn profiles etc of these fascist thugs. #ICE #fascists

predict the next generation of consoles will come in 2 varieties: 1) Digital downloads, no optical drive. 2) Low cost streaming boxes, with monthly subscriptions. The generation after will likely remove option 1 from the above list. #gaming #consoles

Dammit! My parcel made it half way around the world fine, and now it’s going to end up flung over some random garden wall instead of being delivered… #evri #crapcompanies

This is my favourite nerd-out of the week! Ravel's Bolero recreated with layer upon layer of hacked/retro tech, courtesy of #lftkryo Starts off simple, but certainly doesn't end up that way! www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMGb... #demoscene #retrotech

Anyone else interpret EVRI emails saying "We've got your parcel" like a randsom note? Whenever I see those ominous words I know there's a 90% chance I'll never see it. Absolutely useless company. #EVRI

Watched "A House of Dynamite" - 2 hours for NO PAYOFF?! Ok, the first 30 minutes was great, but then replaying the same scenario from different perspectives, adding virtually nothing, and adding characters who had as much impact as the nuke? It just feels like I wasted 2 hours of my life there...

Amazon messaged me my delivery was "3 stops away", 5 hours ago. Looking on the tracker, it's... "3 stops away". What are the chances it'll actually be delivered? #WastedDay #Amazon

I wonder if there's a market for an AI interviewee - with a UI to allow the user to upload their face to map onto the avatar which is trained to ace interviews. It could work especially well with AI interviewers, and after you land a job you can subcontract it out to AI! A victimless crime. #AI

This Alpine A290 GTS is my first EV - I was getting 200+ miles from a full charge up until around a month ago - now it's freezing here things have changed somewhat!

Dude, your Roomba clone just committed suicide, look.

Democrats set to cave to republicans yet again on the shutdown. Getting NOTHING concrete by voting to reopen the govt. After all of this, when the public are obviously blaming the GoP for the shutdown, the spineless "moderate" dems once again fumble the ball: www.cnbc.com/2025/11/09/t...

This was such a great interview. An army war vet's thoughts on where the US is headed. A really open and honest talk. The Soft White Underbelly channel has a lot of good stuff, honestly... #fascism #politics www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClO0...
