I've finally finished and released Wiggler Wilds, my latest Mario Kart 8 Deluxe custom track. Although its layout is relatively simple, it is nonetheless one of the most complex mods I've ever made due to the inclusion of numerous semi-custom track gimmicks and visual details.

i suspect this is because arcade is less accessible than console, even with emulation. mame is not user friendly At All. god bless arcade archives but every individual release is $8 and they *never* go on sale

i think there's something to be said for what a piece of art tries to accomplish vs what it actually accomplishes, and i think what makes 06 so unique is that it's *extremely visible* what it's trying to accomplish. it's ""bad"" only in that it doesn't do what we expect it should

i think 06 is unique in that it genuinely is the worst game that a *casual onlooker* will ever interact with. it at least Tries to be a functioning game, which makes its missteps very apparent - and very accessible. meanwhile nobody's playing Balan Wonderworld long enough to see how bad it gets

flashing back to that time I found an opinionated sonic fan so fucking irritating that I decided that, actually, people who love sonic 06 are so much cooler than people who hate sonic 06, and I'd rather fit in with them, so I started finding the redeeming qualities in it on purpose.

and yes the internet loves dunking on sonic, but there are easier targets; sonic boom rise of lyric for wii u is the worse game of the two by a country mile, yet nobody talks about it anymore. i think 06's accessibility is why it's still an annoying part of the public conscious

anyway i 100% agree with Harmony's point, i'd much rather hang around people who have an open mind and define themselves by what they like rather than what they dislike. finding things you enjoy even in a "bad" game is a kind of optimism, and blindly dunking on things is just exhausting

my bad, i forgot the last fortune cookie stream was that long ago. it's actually closer to THIRTY new platforms new to the election day stream will be games on Xbox and 360, DS and 3DS, every Atari console including the Jaguar and Lynx, PSP and Vita, Apple II and Commodore 64, and TONS more!

a good 150-200 of these come from the 3ds stuff that we couldn't stream before. in fact, compared to our last fortune cookie stream, we've added games from a grand total of TWENTY new platforms!

some new consoles like Intellivision come to us via emulated collections, others like Super Famicom are because we have brand new consoles or capture equipment in our toolbox. either way, our library spans a lot of history - and you'll get to vote on what we play!
