Do not go gentle into that good night Rage... rage... ...against the dying of the light #art #sayhername

I'm really tired of Bsky's systems being broken all the time. I encounter an issue I'd say every 3 out of 5 times I post. Images not uploading properly, the site being down, uploading not functioning and this doesn't include browsing issues I've encountered. I want this platform to be viable but

I don't blame people who are frustrated with it. A few issues here and there would be one this but it's so frequent in my experience and its bad on both mobile and desktop. Maybe I'm unlucky but this has just been my experience. I just want to post my work c'mon man 😩

I love seeing repeat clients. It's a huge compliment to know someone wants to come back for seconds (or thirds or forths and so on...)

Expanding on this a little more, The desire for an everything platform is a big part of what is lacking from a lot of furry centric sites. You can't really focus on one aspect of the fandom. Places that favor artists or creators don't have social aspects for the average content consumer

In light of FA being in the spotlight, people blame covid for a lot of the percieved attitude shifts in the furry fandom and while it certainly didn't help, I think it has more to do with the migration to social media as an everything platform. Cont 🧵

The furry fandom is a loop of creators and consumers, both overlapping in the sense that most people are both, and we rely heavily on that linked support sharing in a common interest. Places like FA, Barq, and Furtrack accomplish various aspects of this to limited degrees.

I won't pretend to know anything about website infrastructure aside from understanding it is a monumental $$$ task to overhaul things. But a more social framework being implemented on something like FA which is already established would be a massive game changer in terms of online furry community.

or ways for them to engage and share content they like outside of a favourites folder makes it more difficult for those members to create an engaging social circle. It's why a lot of people felt isolated or left behind on FA and sought out social media.

The quiet days of browsing have given way to the bustling digital public squares that are social media. But given those platforms were never intended for niche content creators, among poor management decisions, contribute to the struggle so many artists face with getting their work seen.

You didn't have normies asking why they're seeing furry porn on their feed when you were posting on FA. Tags and robust search options helped better sort even nicher topics so people weren't whining about seeing something they didn't like. The culture of hobby sites was vastly different.

Its sad to see FA falling off when it is one of the best artistic archives we have. If FA functioned like a modern SM it would be the holy grail furries have been searching for that the weasels, bskies, and pillowforts have struggled to be. Anyway follow me on FA www.furaffinity.net/user/sioteru/

I remember around 2017 I talked with a lot of people who said they didn't like FA and other hobby specific sites anymore since switching to social media. But those niche sites are what helped keep fandom content in fandom circles.
