I look forward to some techbro announcing they've created a new technology capable of displaying two (2) digits to the left of the decimal point and having a load of americans whooping and hollering that the rest of the world doesn't get innovation.
MAXXED OUT at $9.999!! GasBuddy data showing 5 stations in California that have hit the limit and are selling diesel at the dispensers highest possible price: $9.999/gal

One of the (very few) benefits of having children is instantly becoming immune to the sound of other people's children.
On a recent flight after suffering a 9 hour delay I was sat near a small child who screamed continually for hours! I lulled myself to sleep thinking of all the ways I could murder the child and found it really quite soothing.

Over the past year, lots of people have asked me what I think of the argument Jean-Baptiste Fressoz makes in More and More and More - that sources of energy are only ever additive. TLDR: not much. mliebreich.substack.com/p/more-and-m...

1/ New from James Bloodworth: “On speaking ill of the dead.” Yes, gloating over a death is bad form—but we’re now asked to go further, to stand in silence while the deceased is sainted. That’s a demand worth resisting. 🧵 www.forthedeskdrawer.com/p/on-speaking-ill-of-the-dead
There's a similar experience in the Museum of the Home in Hackney where they have a typical room from like the early 2000s. Felt like violence ngl
This is a triggering image of a museum display in the natural history museum in DC about life before smartphones. Me and a fellow 40+ person were laughing at how we are now LITERAL MUSEUM PIECES. MY teen was like did you have a clear phone? An address book? A book of maps. Yes, yes I did. 🫠🫠🫠

Full throated endorsement of this post. Dtf St Louis is the best tv of the year.
DTF St Louis is sublime? Why didn’t it break through more? It’s NOT what I thought it was. Beautifully crafted. Much artier and weirder than I thought it would be. Highly recommend. Need to know about why the police station is unnecessarily wonderful - like a theatre set for a Kafka adaptation. Love

This Fess would also work if the husband was 20 years younger than them. Rather than the stupid Gen X, Millennial classifications we should have a name for the one (1) generation born between ~1975 and ~1995 who actually grew up knowing how computers work.
My husband is 20 years older than me and I absolutely adore everything about him. Apart from his computer skills- trying to explain to him where his files are kept on his laptop makes me want to smother him with a pillow in his sleep.
