Not a single news outlet has reviewed its coverage of Jason Arday, for accuracy or proportionality. Zero attempt to conduct any inquiry into the media’s role in his death. Instead, the industry has moved into self-congratulatory mode. This isn’t just tone deaf, it betrays a systemic failure

This story from Fox News is hilarious to me in how it's meant to be scary. They asked around at an @abdulelsayed.bsky.social rally and his supporters support basic income. Great! Now go to a Trump rally and ask about $5,000 checks. I also like how it mentions the 250 pilots showing positive results.

Over-assessment of students (or anything in fact) is like constantly digging up a sapling to check its root growth.

This is great. The time is right to attack the corporations that are destroying our society. We may be dependent upon them… but with a little imagination and organisation they’re all replaceable.

When a worker wears an Amazon vest, drives an Amazon van and delivers on an Amazon-controlled route, but Amazon denies they work for the company — that's exploitation.

Basic income is a top issue this BC election. Almost half of British Columbians have a Green candidate who signed our pledge to work towards guaranteed basic income if elected. This would be a generational investment in BC's future.

We even realise in London. Not enough world leaders are standing up to Trump at the moment and if Lula is replaced by Bolsonaro Jr then we are in much worse shape.

With poverty you're either paying to address it one way, or paying to address it another. Letting it play out costs even more. Better to address it up front in a way that is most effective, dignified and inexpensive. Welcome to basic income. bsky.app/profile/scot...

I've been researching the idea of Unconditional Universal Basic Income since 2013. Here's a collection of findings I've compiled from various UBI experiments and studies of cash transfer programs around the world. This will be a VERY LONG and ongoing thread focused entirely on empirical evidence. 🧵

Elon Musk is trying to buy this Senate seat in Texas. He wants our land, he wants our water, and he wants his own personal U.S. senator. He’s trying to buy Texas. But on November 3rd, we’ll deliver a clear message to the world’s first trillionaire: Texas is not for sale.

An entire industry asked to be saved by UBI -- fishermen Irish farmers already get a "basic income support for sustainability" that pays per hectare farmed. It plays a key role in guaranteeing food security, and for farmers, income resilience and a fair standard of living.

We are being robbed. Of our homes, our healthcare, our retirements, our recreation, our very futures. They lay off 1,000s and use the saving to buy back stocks. Aren't you tired of these thieves taking money out of your pockets?

A Sunday indulgence… I picked this little book up yesterday and read it today… it’s about one of my favourite albums: Sandinista! Striking how controversial its size and diversity were. It seems to get stronger and stronger over time to me. And a great political education.

Before Citizens United, the top 15 political contributors spent just $15 million on the midterm election. Now, the top 15 have spent $962 MILLION. That's up 6,400%. THIS is why our system is so rigged. We really, really have to end Citizens United and tax the rich.

As Dean Peter Elliott of Vancouver's Christ Church Cathedral explains we need to start with a guaranteed basic income, not as a panacea because nothing ever is, but just to help bring people's incomes up to a better level to match current costs.

I've written to the govt about a concern causing real frustration across North Herefordshire: the practice of "farmwashing," where supermarkets use misleading marketing to suggest produce comes from British family farms - when it has actually come from overseas.

South Korea's 49th PM knew AI should fund UBI. This is common sense policy now that all technologically advanced societies should adopt. "I am considering the idea of combining the massive wealth that will arise in relation to the AI great transformation with basic income." UBI works.

A recent survey found that 92% of U.S. adults have delayed or avoided medical care due to high costs. Meanwhile, a new study from Yale estimates that Medicare for All would save over 114,000 lives and $1 trillion a year. If this country was truly “pro-life,” we would have universal healthcare.
