I have opinions and know stuff. Minneapolis enby witch with a pain disorder and cats. In my previous life I was a forensic psychologist. Now I garden and spread love to counteract my inner angst. I *will* call you "love." When I die, I will be released.

I'm here once again to tell you that you are loved. Life is pain, but love is the balm that makes it bearable. Some people feel unlovable, and I absolutely relate to that, but fuck it. Don't listen to those people who say you aren't worthy. You are cool AF to someone and you should know it.

I know my dad's financial advisor didn't mean to trigger a whole month of trauma for my brother and I by ignoring the POA restrictions before contacting my brother and telling him all that stuff, but y'know maybe those things exist for a reason. Best intentions, yada yada.

state sen mary kunesh here to explain the school lands trust amendment on the ballot and urge us to vote yes and spread the word it will not increase taxes, and not voting is treated as a no. she represents hilltop

I had picked up an automatic laser toy at the shelter for the cats, because they love those things, and this morning the batteries finally died. I found someone had put half the batteries in backwards, but the thing still worked? With the new set in the laser is BRIGHT! Such happy kitties!

One of the best things I've ever learned was, "Anger is Fear's bodyguard." I often sit with my anger and try to find what the fear behind that is, and then... Face the thing that I fear. I'm learned to face my fears so fully that I want to live instead of just survive.

I want to talk a little bit about fear, considering it's something I wrote a book about. One thing I heard about in the lead up to this event was about fear - that people are afraid of what Hasan being here meant, that they're afraid of his "rhetoric," and that we should respect that fear.

I think this is what separates my brother and I from our father, despite the fact that we were raised by him. He is a survivalist, and his idea of survival is based on fear and individualism. Ours is based on common goals and community. We are not the same.

This migraine and the weather pulled at me all day, so I gave in to the call of the couch and the cat. I got a three hour nap after work. Delightful. Apparently the husband attempted to wake me and failed. 😂 This rain could have come a few months ago, you know.

I just spoke to an unhoused person that reminded me of one I used to take home with me after my bakery shift 25 years ago. That I didn't push them out of the vestibule and invited them into my office while it rained... They had tears in their eyes. I offered them candy and a sticker, too.

This. Sucks. Ass.

In 2024, Lakeshore Care submitted an application for what was called a emergency shelter w/ 24 beds for those recovering from illness/medical procedures. It faced strong opposition with public safety concerns and drug use. Application was withdrawn. Instead, the building will now just sell drugs.

Yesterday my SIL had a benefit to raise money for her cancer treatments, and y'all, it was moving how many people came. Boggling. She was diagnosed with stage 3 HER2 on her birthday in January, and has been fighting this whole time. She's 38. Get your mammogram. Do monthly checks. Don't wait.

This post is unavailable.

I seriously had to go sit in my car several times because I got overwhelmed. There were too many people. As I was leaving, she said, "thanks for coming, this must have been your own personal hell!" Why yes, thank you for acknowledging that, my dear one. How I love you. And so does everyone else.

Spent a good chunk of today crying tears of acknowledgement that I've lived a hard life, fought the good fight, and have been winning. These kids are growing up in a different world than I did, and their kids will grow up in a different one than they did, and so on. We can't stop fighting.

My husband and I got rid of our second car because we didn't drive it enough, the battery kept dying. 😞 I'm so sad for all the people who needed this. I'm spoiled living in a dense transit corridor, highly walkable, full of the things I need. I have a car to visit my brother in the burbs.

I'm having a hard time not sharing my nibling's homecoming photo because I'm so proud and happy and omg they are much more encouraged to be themselves than I ever was. I took a trans date to my first homecoming and my parents had a shit fest.

i don’t wanna hear talk of how civically engaged minneapolis residents are around the election and how we vote in high numbers from the city or mayor this year with these proposed budget cuts to the elections & voter services office if you value these things, fund them like you do!

The supervisor of our Early Vote Center, gone. The supervisor overseeing mail staff, gone. Our lead election judge trainer, gone. Supervisor of logistics staff making sure equipment functions correctly and polling sites have what they need, gone.

My mom and dad met on the job at Terra Chemical. First sight my dad was sweaty in a hard hat, my mom was behind the Marriage Desk. They called it that because the woman who sat there didn't stay there long, she met her husband from the men in the work force. It was true.

My dad actually did this for a living, construction and design of slip-form silos and other buildings. He brought my mother to Minneapolis for their honeymoon because he wanted to see all the silos 😂

My dad left to be a full-time draftsman at a different company for 40 years instead of working with the concrete once he had two kids, and thank goodness, because when I was 13 Terra Chemical - Port Neal exploded.

Cannot wait to see what this becomes 😂 My neighbors are pretty creative.

CVS have failed to offload their old store in whittier after closing it almost 2 years ago, removing a pharmacy from this area, and to prevent people from sitting on the steps, they’ve now constructed a wall made from bricks stacked together. lovely. really ties it all together!

I used to catch the sunrise because I worked the morning shift at daycare centers or coffee shops or bakeries. Not because I woke up on my own and wandered out to my garden ready to meet the day. This is new for me.
