I do actually love Castlevania 1. SO MUCH!!!!!!!! I think it's great and one of those examples of "in its time it was crazyyyyyyy". But like I just love that every move needs thought going into it. Later game enemy spam makes things feel a lot less fair (that one clocktower screen with the flea men)
Due to the month I’ve been thinking a lot about Castlevania recently. I beat 1 a couple of times! I will never ever beat 3
Weirdly I think I enjoyed the ReVamped fan game more because the gameplay was difficult/engaging. But it still devolved into this by the end and you don’t even use logic. “Fire whip destroys fire blocks” makes NO SENSE!!!!!!!
SotN has stunning visuals and incredible music meanwhile the gameplay has you finding an item that lets you bypass one single lock, behind it is another item that bypasses another single lock, etc. That or just “you cant jump high enough yet”
Wonderful work from Emily Lowan @emilylowan.bsky.social actually providing a detailed taxation plan compared to Eby repeating that residents will "have to give just a little bit more" every five minutes

red-mccloud.itch.io/something-se... MY SUBMISSION TO NOISE JAM 4 "A GIRL-SHAPED HOLE" AND SPOOKTOBER 8. MY NEXT VISUAL NOVEL. SOMETHING SECRET STEERS US. I hope you all enjoy the product of 20 days of self-imposed crunch. It is not refined but it is ready enough. Thank you.
Mario Eclipse felt great with this because instead of using the hover nozzle I pretty exclusively used the hover burst, because you can conserve your momentum but you need to use all the space available to you to build up some great speed beforehand, and you need to consider your angle/trajectory
Idk if its possible to make it feel Not Terrible but i daydream of a 3d platformer with no air control. Tons of control over your momentum but the decisionmaking lies entirely on the ground before a jump. Its kind of the Mario Eclipse experience.
