Not as nice as initially expected, but does get better over time. I don't get it either. Join for the games & tech, stay for the unhinged socialism! I’m SO scary!

Remember the adage ‘If you died tomorrow, the company would replace you in a week?’ Isn’t that quaint now? Of course they wouldn’t. They’d leave the role open, claim difficulty hiring, and split your work between remaining coworkers, offering pizza parties for their ‘flexibility’ Replace you, lol.

Whilst I’m game-ranting, HOW do we not have a modern version of Splinter Cell, with the level of interaction and environmental awareness a modern lighting engine could provide, and including the rad asymmetric multiplayer? Like, that IP is right there Ubi. Surely someone must want to?

Outside of the endless boring culture wars, I actually think on a work or personal level, cultural integration is far better than it was growing up. In my immediate team I have Indians, Chinese, Iranians, Irish, Ukrainians, Filipino, German and British in my Australian business. And nobody cares.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

Finished this, and for their first release, it's bloody excellent. There's loads of ways for this to improve; Tonnes of minor niggles, but for a first release? Hugely promising for Rebel Wolves.

The Blood of Dawnwalker Update 1.1 adds an easier Story mode, a respec potion and animal petting. https://bit.ly/47qVqmB

Three Kookas doing their best impression of an 80’s Mum toilet artwork. Took in Kilkivan whilst camping last week.

*Apparently* calling out the Meat Proxy who has deferred their entire role to the robots and now speaks entirely in Copilotese is me being problematic. Apparently.

One week until we get to see the lovely @wearejames.bsky.social again in Brisbane! Folks - If you're willing to have a Hello and a hug with a few Mancs lost down under after the gig, we'd love to know how! Last time at The Tivoli was magic.

Reminder that the only people who benefit from these sPoOkY AI stories are the tech companies developing them. They *want* permissive regulatory control, so they can do what they want, and no 2026 Linus Torvalds equivalent rug pulls them. That’s why they get such signal & reach.

“.. None of the incidents were breaches, OpenAI said, but were examples of its technology behaving in unexpected and concerning ways.” @nytimes.com www.nytimes.com/2026/09/25/t...

Physics question: Is the curvature of spacetime instant? Does it take any time to bend? Even at stellar scales? Like, if I deleted the sun instantaneously, does everything stop orbiting there and then, or does it take noticeable time? I have no idea why I’m asking, or how you’d prove it, mind you.

Good morning Australia, where, thanks to the toxic combination of performative Government actions on safety and American assumptions on banking systems… …as of yesterday my 22 year old Steam account needs a credit card to prove I’m over 18 years old.

I'm sure some horrible AI could make the duck version I have in my head, but I won't do that, and I don't have the skills to, so instead, have a bunch of other cool artists making homage to the Akira bike slide!

How fast was the duck going?

Dear @playstation.com - since, according to the terms you just reminded us all of, I’m NOT buying but merely RENTING digital games for an undetermined and totally arbitary amount of time, you should not be allowed to use the word “Buy” or “Purchase” anywhere.

Tom Warren@tomwarren.co.uk

Sony emailing everyone about PlayStation terms of use during a backlash over the end of discs and a lack of digital ownership is certainly a choice

In the nicest possible tone, Wordle can go fuck itself on this one. Wordle 1,899 X/6 ⬛🟨⬛⬛⬛ ⬛🟩🟩⬛⬛ ⬛🟩🟩🟩⬛ ⬛🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬛🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬛🟩🟩🟩🟩

Because the very notion of being able to utilise Police time to do this definitely isn't a sign of corporate interests controlling the State. "To Protect and Serve. Us, megacorps, from you, slaves."

With a new release on the horizon, Call of Duty's creators are taking serious actions to fix the series' most pressing complaint.

I'm not crying, you're crying! (It's me, I'm crying.)

This is the letter kids got at the end of Dolly’s Imagination Library. I defy you to read this and not cry.

Being fully remote: 1. A vendor solution I have run for for three years has been claimed as a brave new find by parties inside the organisation who happen to be physically in the office. 2. A senior staff was publicly moaning about me and I only know because people off-record fed it back. Cool.

Think about how much Dolly did with however much money she had, then consider how little all these billionaires do with much, much more money.

Thanks @unburntwitch.com for pointing out that they COULD make a Titanfall, Populous, Megalomania or Clive Barker's Undying game, and just don't because, I dunno, capitalism? Come on Saudi; Give us back these pieces of game bedrock. Daddy needs a new Syndicate game, at least.

GamesRadar+@gamesradarplus.bsky.social

EA could sell "dormant IPs" like Ultima and Wing Commander after Saudi acquisition, former manager says: "There are plenty of IPs like that at EA that nobody cares about at this moment" www.gamesradar.com/games/rpg/ea...

I just found out Zoom's in-meeting AI assistant is called 'ZoomMate'. Excuse me, I'll be finishing this ritual circle outside so I can summon the meteor.

*Laughs to avoid breaking down sobbing* There’s the urge to jovially do the whole ‘I’m in this article and I don’t like it’ but it’s just too close, too big, too real. How do you even BEGIN to tackle this? What a slam dunk of an article.

I have to work with AI. I work in Tech, it's now career existential to not. However, what I can't abide is the rising dual insanities that: 1. If you didn't use AI, you're somehow making it harder (As opposed to wanting a quality outcome.) 2. You can dismiss anything you don't like as 'made by AI'.

Was it the 'cause' of the rightwing backlash though, or just the background radiation to the ongoing fuckin' miserable crunch of the tank treads of a Murdoch based media and the grift train that rides it? Like, who exactly is doing the blaming, eh?

Suggested we replace a coworker with an open can of Pedigree Chum, because logically it’ll attract a stray dog that’ll either do a better job, or in the worse case at least we’ll have a dog now. Apparently this was ‘unproductive feedback.’

*laughs in MSP / MSSP* We haven’t even got a reasonable outlet to Patreon on, help, the bus is on fire, the doors are locked and that looks like an approaching cliff edge!

tinybaby@tiny.baby

oh your entire industry is crumbling because of externalities outside your control? Have you thought of starting a patreon so that you have to do a bunch of extra work on top of that?

Genuinely might be the most annoyed at Wordle I’ve ever been. Five in a row of just one letter and no way to improve but guesswork. Wordle 1,885 X/6 🟨⬛🟨🟨⬛ 🟩🟩🟨⬛⬛ 🟩🟩🟩⬛🟩 🟩🟩🟩⬛🟩 🟩🟩🟩⬛🟩 🟩🟩🟩⬛🟩

The entire Souls movement. I'm fine with games being hard. I'm not fine with pretending your clunky movement was some kind of 4D chess planned feature, as opposed to just opportunistic bandwagoning.

No hate, no dogpiling, just curious. For me, it's Skyrim. Don't know why, considering it should be exactly my kind of game, but it just didn't click for me.

I have zero reach or credibility in this space. Regardless, Kirk write good word. You pay Kirk, he write you good word. Good word make big dollar happy time. So, big dollar happy time come from pay Kirk.

It’s my turn now! The newsletter didn’t take off so I’ve been laid off. If you’re looking for someone with 15 years of experience as a writer and editor, please get in touch. I’ve also written dozens of mock reviews and my clients say they’re good.

How do you know your brain is games-rotten? When you see a ranndom Reel in front of a door and immediately say out loud 'Coastline, Rainbow Six Siege'. IFYKYK.

Okay, went through a flurry of fetching mutuals out of 'The Old Site That Went Bad'. If you're just noticing my Follow, Hi! I followed you back there, and have zero intent of being any more interesting or socially acceptable now!

Reminder: If you’re ever bored at work, just find a generic resignation letter, fill it out with a coworkers name then print it and leave it on the printer. Guaranteed comedy from some basic office terrorism.

That there’s no US Democratic candidate organising ‘Drain The Swamp’ chants now at rallies is such an incredible missed opportunity. “Oh, you didn’t mean the swamp you made? Riiiiiigggght.”
