I'm not my ancestors. Some of my ancestors were evil. I won't take credit for what they did right and reject any blame for their evil. You're not your ancestors. Some of them may have been godly. Some of them may have been victims. You're not them.

One of the best Obsidian plugins for those who are concerned with consistency and style is named "Linter". It was upgraded today. This is good news and bad news. The "bad news" is the upgrade was so intensive the developer is not absolutely certain of its stability. github.com/platers/obsi...
The fourth episode of my podcast was released over the weekend. It is about when Mary and Joseph brought the baby Jesus to the temple in Jerusalem. www.seekingthefountain.com/consolation-...
The third episode of my podcast was released today. It is about the birth of Jesus. www.seekingthefountain.com
I have started a podcast for Bible believers. www.seekingthefountain.com The first episode is based on John 1:1-4. The second episode is based on Luke 1. The third episode will be released in the middle of September. It will be on Luke 2:1-16 and is titled "The birth of Jesus".
@dianelangberg.bsky.social No organization is like God. Only individuals can be godly. One of the greatest theological fallacies is the idea that congregations (which are organizations) are components of the universal ekklesia. Jesus added humans to the Lamb's book of life. They are the church.
@quietblkgrl.bsky.social The reason they voted for him was because they thought they were doing what Jesus wanted them to do. But Jesus did not call for the eradication of sin. Nor for the coercion of sinners. Jesus called for persuading sinners to freely repent and voluntarily accept His will.
"Religion" is either of divine origin OR It is a human construct. A person cannot hold both views. Any religion which considers itself to be a human construct thereby denies that it is of divine origin. Therefore, "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools".
The project will "cover all religious traditions" and will "focus on human purpose, the meaning of life, and what it is to live well, including ‘down-stream’ questions connected to religious practice."
@buffyreads.bsky.social Re: Your dating question Two people can refrain from an activity (or engage in an activity) for completely unrelated reasons. People tend to judge conduct based on outward appearances rather than seeking to learn the intent of the one they are judging. Read Joshua 22
@connormcdevin.bsky.social I could not reply on the original. 1. Alt text is not only beneficial for people who need it like your son, it also sometimes provides clarity when the viewer does not know what the photographed object is. 2. Use the settings here: bsky.app/settings/acc...
An Executive Order cannot abolish an act of Congress. It may be that Trump's allies in Congress will abolish this law but until they do, it is the law: 8 U.S. Code § 1401 uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?p...
@euthyphro.bsky.social Grief cannot be "cured", it can only be lived through. Many who are not in a state of grief want to "fix" the situation but it is far better if they will learn that grief cannot be fixed it can only be endured. My wife's death was in 2015 so your loss has been longer.
@grammartable.bsky.social If you're still in contact with Bryan Garner send him this thread. He advocates for plain english in legal writing.
@seshatnoir.bsky.social What you are experiencing now was the normal before Daylight Savings was invented. If you choose to blame people for it taking an hour longer in the morning for it to get light outside in April or for an extra hour of daylight during Spring and Summer that is your choice.
Optimist: The cup is half full. Pessimist: The cup is half empty. Topologist: The cup is equivalent to a doughnut.
Optimist: The cup is half full. Pessimist: The cup is half empty. Copy editor: Nine pages ago it was described as a "mug"; do you intend the terms to be interchangeable or is this supposed to be a different drinking vessel?
@gruber.foo This is in reference to the DOJ's latest reaction to Google. Garland's DOJ had an opportunity, (as did the rest of Biden's administration) which we cannot expect of the next admin, to seek for the middle road instead of further polarizing the US.

I am disturbed by one of the comments made by Mark Collins in an article in the Columbus Dispatch. Article URL: www.dispatch.com/story/news/c... The part which bothers me is the 2 paragraphs which start "Collins said the verdict shook up…" A man died because of an officer reacting w/o verifying.
@ivacheung.bsky.social My feed shows you reposted a post by someone who reposted this post: bsky.app/profile/fain... This post uses the phrase "absolutely imperfect". Would you, if editing, suggest replacing "absolutely" with a different modifier?
I've lived in countries that lack the food safety protections we have in the US, and I think a lot of Americans don't really understand just how frequent injuries and deaths from dangerous food are in places that lack even our own (absolutely imperfect) standards.
The Bible teaches that God is constant & unchanging. We change because we are incomplete. But, God predetermined before creation that He would deal with man differently at different times. Thus from our perspective, His laws & methods seem to have changed but God planned all of it from the beginning
You are up to date.
