it's pretty amazing that we've gone from OCR being a finicky somewhat hacky thing a year or two ago, to today being able to paste an image into Claude Code and get instant huge analysis on any text and image

Excited for Apple HomeView to replace a janky 10-year old wall mounted Android music controller - the "precision magnets" design seems weird though, like do they expect people to want to move it often after mounted? Will it "lock" on a hallway wall? www.se.com/ww/en/about-...

Schools: “your student will do best with routine bedtime and wake up and class schedules, especially for those with adhd” Also schools: “every Wednesday is late start day with totally different start & class times” 🙃

woah woah woah agents, slow down, its Monday morning! I might need a throttle on speed based on day of the week or something. suggesting I rearchitect a legacy db schema to make a query faster is like a Wednesday mid-day suggestion not a Monday before 2nd coffee suggestion

If (numGoldChains > 0) then “I’m out” 😆 😂 💯

Should be a required preference to toggle off the dark patterns of LLMs finishing prompt answers with a question to keep you engaged in the chat

I like the control of shift-tab to put Claude Code into Auto Mode now -- feels like starting cruise control when on the interstate -- and then I shift-tab back down to Accept Edits for more manual driving

and being at UPRR in ‘00 when Java wasn’t yet trusted for “low level” code so we’d have Java pre-JSP html rendering but calling a c++ database layer because Java was “too slow”

Spent a week that summer finding a memory leak in a C compiler that some middleware manager had blamed on code — which really just pushed us to go Java on the whole backend after that

core memories of an Honors CS100 level c++ course where we did Java for the honors final circa ‘97 — and hiding public static void main(){} in a TI-85 because I knew I couldn’t memorize that nonsense at the time!

cannot be overstated the amount of time saved having JIRA tickets created by Claude Code! Spend time curating a skill to create tickets in a style you prefer. Automating a task I despise doing to keep focusing on building things is such a great application of LLMs 🎉

nobody loved a sunset cruise as much as Scout did — here’s to the pontoon cruises over the rainbow bridge little buddy 🍻
