I'm releasing my synth next month, so I'm working on a preset demo video, but it's a constant battle with Davinci Resolve. I just refuse to pay for Adobe After Effects though, even if it's probably more suited for this task. I feel it still looks a bit static. Needs a waveform or something. 🤔

Does anyone know of another good source for CC0 licensed samples of acoustic instruments? One that's not from the following list? - Versilian - Karoryfer - freesound.org - samplefocus.com - freepats.zenvoid.org

I might have underestimated how much time it takes to create a sample library to ship with the plugin. Got to stop thinking about it though, and just slowly grind every single day until it's done. It can't be worse than implementing the 44 effects, which is already in the past.

There doesn’t really seem to be a reverb plugin with a “Non Linear” mode that’s really tweakable (duration, envelope, echo density, diffusion, stereo width, filters). Unless I’m missing one? Might be my next project if my search really turns up empty.

Cool trick: suppose you want to use a 707 kick, but can't fit it in your mix. Highpass it at 500Hz and resynthesize the missing freqs with Kick2. It still sounds like a 707 but now its low end is completely tweakable. Make it deeper or less deep, give it more or less knock, make it longer or shorter

First tune from the "unfinished & abandoned" vault. I would've liked to finish this one. Maybe I will someday, on my old PC. But probably not because it had already been sitting there for 2 years or so without getting finished.

I recently got a new PC and decided to have a clean install with only the plugins I actually use and only as VST3’s. But now I have dozens of unfinished tracks that won’t open anymore because of missing plugins. I might post some clips here so it doesn’t entirely feel like they’re gone to waste.

Messing around a bit with the SWAM Saxophones.

Transmissions #4 will be released on the 29th, concluding the 4 part series. Not sure what's next for me. I want to change up my sound a bit, but I'm not sure about the direction yet. I'm currently toying with some classic synthwave vibes, but also some 80's jazz-funk fusion sounds. We'll see!

So good to see more and more synth people showing up! I can’t believe I’m finally scrolling a feed that shows me music posts again, instead of viral engagement bait slop. I’m going to try and be more active here.
