The only things getting me through work today are excessive amounts of Vanilla Coke Zero and Turnstile’s Glow On album on repeat…

Post trick or treating (the town has an early afternoon event), I found one of these in my kid’s buckets. PARENTS, CHECK YOUR KID’S CANDY! THERE MIGHT BE CHRISTMAS IN THEIR BUCKETS! <hissing cat noise here>

Gearing up to go trick-or-treating in our little town.

Interesting postscript to these drawings, it’s had an impact on how my son approaches his doodling. Since getting them, he’s been abandoning stick figures a bit to do more fully rendered illustrations and he’s thinking a bit more about positioning on the page to fill negative space… His Crocodile…

My favorite Tom Skerritt movie? The Heist, 1989. It played incessantly on HBO from 1989-1995 and is a pure joy to watch. Pierce Brosnan when he was mainly a TV star, before the Bond years, solid comedy thriller.

You know what I love about a good vintage paper Halloween decoration? The ones with the weird little nonsensical details. The odd safety pin on a sleeve, the metal plate mending a hip bone, one shoe untied, a random band-aid, or a horseshoe in place of a rib bone.

A brand new episode of @crestwoodhouse.bsky.social where we assure you, the house won’t growl “Get Out!” @paxholley.com takes @michaelmay.bsky.social & I on a tour of the Amityville Horror from 1979! Flies, boils, and creepy as ghost pigs! cultfilmclub.com/crestwood-ho...

If anyone is curious about how deep my podcast prep goes, here's all the snacks and drinks I'd have at my Slumber Party for each of the five time slots (6:00pm, 8:00pm, 10:00pm, Midnight and 2:00am...) To hear my movie choices, listen to the episode!

Was supremely stoked to guest on today’s @vhuspodcast.bsky.social where I got to pal around with host Dirk and Ryan (@newworldpicpod.bsky.social) to plan out our perfect middle school slumber party horror movie marathons. Such a fun discussion! www.vh-us.com/episodes/hor...

8:00pm: Snacks - Sour Cream & Onion Quackers, Buggles & a big bowl of mixed candy corn & peanuts. At this point drinks would switch to weird store-brand sodas like cherry limeaid BigK. 10:00pm: Drinks would switch to heavily caffeinated sodas like Mountain Dew/Surge. Taking a break on the snacks.

Midnight: Snacks would be Slim Jims (I'd get my mom to pop for the long gas station ones) and home-made Cherry Coke with grenadine and maraschino cherries or chocolate Cokes (Coke + Hershey's syrup.) 2:00am: No snacks, just Jolt Cola. Lots of Jolt Cola.

6:00pm: Pizza Hut Bigfoot pizza (2 square feet of pizza my dudes), with sausage, mushroom and onion. Soda would be an assortment of non-caffeinated fruit sodas like Peach/Grape/Strawberry Crush

Dirk and Ryan had such great picks. They spurred me on to catch Frostbiter: Wrath of the Wendigo last night, which is like watching Evil Dead II by way of Low Budget Pictures meets Degrasdi Jr High (for level of acting), but also starring Ron Asheton of The Stooges. A fever dream of cray fun…

Yes. Yes I do send my wife pictures of Glass Block whenever I see it in the wild, even in empty amusement park bathrooms…

This is an exciting thread about retro glass block decor in movies & TV that I will update when the mood strikes. Come along! 🧵📌 Let’s start with one of my favorites. Karate Kid III (1989) Glass block in Terry Silver’s opulent bathroom where he conducts all his important revenge business.

Oh great, I’m 4 months away from crossing the Wilford Brimley chronological divide… 🫠

Born 21 January 1976, Emma Bunton is 18,530 days old today, matching Wilford Brimley's age on the day 'Cocoon' was released. Congrats, Emma! You've reached the Brimley/Cocoon Line.

Oh shit, my math was wrong, I’m only 17,987 days old. I’ve got like a year and a half before I’m cast in the Cocoon remake…
