This is honestly just the worst about society. I hope history refuses to forgive us for allowing the Kardashians to become a thing or for youth sports to become a “lifestyle” for adults who peaked in high school. Say nothing of monetizing it all and putting it on TV. thespun.com/news/kim-kar...
Really feels like the goal at both espn and lsu is to hire the most unlikeable, unwatchable people.
Pat McAfee: "What has it been like, man?... You got sued by the [SEC], what, just two days ago..." Lane Kiffin: "I've really appreciated our friendship, and this week, your guidance with me... Between you and I, we're about the two most hated people there are."
Yea, because we have a highly effective vaccine coupled with a highly vaccinated population you absolute dope. He’s actively worked to undermine that for years and now we’re beginning to see the unfortunate fruits of his work.
RFK Jr defends measles: "In 10 years, there have been 3 measles deaths in America. There are now about 1.2 million deaths every year from food-induced illness. The media and certain demagogic politicians are constantly trying to scare us about infectious disease."
You know things are getting bad when the individual conferences are now trying to clean up the NCAA’s mistakes. www.espn.com/college-foot...

I think one of the greatest injustices is that Kevin O’Leary will never fully realize how much of absolute dork he is. All that money, still just a dork among the dorkiest.
For your consideration: “If you live in the celebrity bubble, party after party, with the same people—the same 25 people—life gets really boring,” said Kevin O’Leary, the businessman and “Shark Tank” panelist. “When you end up with a private-equity guy, your life gets far more interesting.”
Everything EA makes is going to be worse than it already is.
EA officially goes private tonight, meaning: - EA will no longer trade on the NASDAQ for the first time in 36 years - All stockholders of EA (including many employees) will receive $210/share - EA will take on $18 billion (!) in debt, putting it on the hook to pay ~$1.8 billion/year in interest
Between John Oliver’s piece and this lawsuit, maybe the general public will finally realize Buc-ee’s kinda sucks. www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2...
The problem for Meta is Zuck. He has no imagination and thus no vision. He’s never had an original idea; if he can’t copy or clone it, he just buys it. And Meta’s stock is setup in such a way that he can do as he pleases, which includes lighting billions on fire. finance.yahoo.com/technology/a...
I grew up near sleepy towns and return to them to visit my parents. I also know a little something about the Econ around data centers. So, I can tell you the benefits he’s asserting here are a complete lie. The fact he says it with a smirk is particularly galling having grown up those communities.
Hassett: "Data centers are very good for towns bc they create so many jobs & bring people in with high incomes that can buy houses & stuff like that. So if you take a sleepy town that hasn't seen much in the last 30 years & put a data center there, there are gonna be a bunch of happy residents."
Forever following the blueprint, chasing Jordan’s shadow. I said what I said.
LeBron James and ESPN are closing in on an agreement for a behind-the-scenes documentary series that will be similar to Michael Jordan’s “The Last Dance,” according to industry sources. One of the sources described the talks as being at the “one-yard line.”
I think it’s funny that Meta lit $80 B on fire with the metaverse and BlackRock is like, “Sure, why not?” Between Nvidia/OpenAI yesterday and BlackRock/Meta today, we’ve reached the “parents co-signing loans for their kids” stage of AI/tech. www.reuters.com/technology/m...
