Inclined to believe this considering the SNES Final Fight Trilogy (or any FF game outside of CPS1 FF1, really) weirdly isn't available on any modern platforms when Capcom has historically put them on whatever the current Nintendo platform was. Even Wii U had FF1-3, Mighty FF, and FF One on VC!

Been playing Mario Kart Super Circuit with patches that - Pushes the game to 60fps (the game already did this under the hood, kinda) - Uses uncompressed instruments - Restores all of the stage hazards that were ommited from the SNES tracks Unironically enjoying this more than Mario Kart World tbh

Getting better at doing these IPS installs, thinking about acquiring and backlighting either a Game Boy Pocket or a WonderSwan Color next.

The lens I originally ordered for this GBC build came in scratched up, so I called an audible and installed the lens for the Pokemon Yellow Edition GBC shell until the replacement lens comes in (hopefully) this week. Not proud of the final result, but it is what it is.

That said, holy shit I forgot how good Golbez' leitmotif is. Up there with Kuja and Sephiroth in terms of incredible FF villain themes

Final Fantasy IV might have a Looney Tunes ass story with a revolving door of character deaths and gameplay that's arguably less flexibly designed than the entry just prior to it ...but damn if it's not a Final Fantasy ass Final Fantasy game. First time replaying it in over 10 years.

27 years ago, 9 year old me dreamed of making my own homemade Pokedex for Pokemon Yellow... but didn't own a Game Boy Printer. Tonight, after approximately 39 days... it's done. A physically handmade and printed Pokedex with all 151 Gen 1 Pokemon. Kid me would be over the moon.

Beat Belmont's Curse today and I'm relieved to say the Dracula fight is somewhere between solid and really good. Doesn't overstay it's welcome and punishing, without being completely bullshit. Wish I could say the same about Death, but whatever.

If you're finding yourself not having enough mobility during a certain mid/late game boss fight's full screen slash attacks, equip the relic that gives you a 5 second boost to general mobility after doing a whip grapple Thank me later

Belmont's Curse's difficulty kinda feels like a logical extension of Order of Ecclesia's in the same way Metroid Dread's difficulty was a logical progression of Metroid Fusion's and I can't say how much I appreciate that enough

Tried giving Hollow Knight another try yesterday and yeah, that game isn't for me. Hand drawn artstyle is neat, but the environments don't really grab me visually, and I'm constantly asking myself when an area is going to fucking end instead of the usual joy I get from exploring in a Metroidvania.

Still the coolest final boss fight in the entire series for my money I remember getting to this as a kid expecting Egg Robo to be in the Big Arm machine from the Sonic 3 half of the game and nearly pissing myself when the Doomsday Zone music kicked in Sonic 3 & Knuckles is so fucking cool man
