Thank you, @GovernorVA, for today’s address. Virginia is strong. We can be stronger. Revenues grew $2.1B even as data centers got a $1.9B tax break. Imagine the possibilities for schools, infrastructure and communities if the wealthiest companies in human history paid their fair share.

nitter.netGovernor Abigail Spanberger (@GovernorVA)This morning, I addressed the Joint Money Committees of the General Assembly in Richmond to share my vision for our Commonwealth. https://t.co/JGq2WWCJxR

I welcome the DNC vote to give Virginia an early voice. From shipyards and farms to suburbs and cities, Virginia reflects America. Candidates must tell us how they stand up to Trump, restore democracy's guardrails and make data centers pay their fair share. My statement: @TheDemocrats

For months, I’ve listened to Virginians from every corner of the Commonwealth. Different backgrounds. Different perspectives. Their message is clear. The status quo cannot continue.

nitter.netTyler Englander (@TylerEnglander)On Senator @GlenSturtevant's call for a data center moratorium, Senator @SenLouiseLucas says, "A statewide moratorium is a serious proposal that deserves serious consideration." Full Statement: ⬇️⬇️⬇️ "Senator Sturtevant is right that the status quo cannot continue. The Commonwealth cannot keep allowing the data center industry to expand without addressing Virginians’ concerns about their health, water, power grid, and rising electric bills, all while some of the richest corporations on earth continue to receive a tax break. A statewide moratorium is a serious proposal that deserves serious consideration. Whatever course Virginia takes, the process must be open, the public must have a seat at the table, and the industry must be held accountable for its impact. There is nothing partisan about a power bill or the water we drink. Our listening tour has made clear that Virginians across party lines share many of the same concerns. I will keep fighting to end the data center sales and use tax exemption and make this industry pay its fair share. And we will keep listening to the people of Virginia."

Virginia is not for sale. The new tax on data centers is a start, but across Virginia, from rural towns to suburbs and cities, democrats and republicans are saying the same thing - we must do better. I hear you. And I’ll keep fighting until we do. [VIDEO]

Watch my @politico Energy Podcast interview w/Virginia's governor, who dinged calls by some Democrats for a federal moratorium that she said would harm the economy & national security https://t.co/0meXymG5II
