The chaos of this administration isn't just reckless, it's expensive. By choosing conspiracy over expertise, Trump and RFK Jr. not only put lives at risk - they make health care more expensive for everyone in Pennsylvania.

Today, we honor the memory of the 11 victims of the Tree of Life shooting, and we renew our commitment to confront antisemitism in our Commonwealth. #StrongerThanHate 💙

I've championed statewide paid family & medical leave because everyone should have the freedom to care for themselves and loved ones without sacrificing their ability to afford the basics. The PA Republican Senate has blocked it from the Governor’s desk. One more reason why leadership matters.

Last week, we celebrated 3 years of the PA Black Maternal Health Caucus! 🥳 I'm proud to be a fouding member of the caucus, which seeks to address alarming trends of Black maternal mortality and pass the PA MOMNIBUS, a legislative package to change the trajectory of maternal health outcomes in PA.

No student should have to miss class just because they're on their period. I was proud to champion another $3 million in this year's state budget to provide free period products to students in PA schools. That's $9M over the last three years to keep students safe, healthy and focused.

PA is home to one of the largest aging populations in the US. As Chair of the Senate Aging & Youth Committee, I was proud to join City & State PA's Aging in PA Summit, where we explored solutions to meet the needs of older adults and caregivers. Because all of us deserve to live + age with dignity.

When we send our children to school, their safety and wellbeing must be put first. In this year's budget, we secured an additional $47M in safety, security and mental health grants for schools across PA.

Far too many older PA'ns are struggling to make ends meet as the cost of everything from gas to groceries to rent continues to rise. Our goal with the Senior Hub is to make it easier for older adults to access resources that can help them save money, connect with neighbors and plan for the future.

Voting by mail? 📮 Four steps. 1: Mark your ballot with blue or black ink and check both sides. 2: Seal it in the yellow secrecy envelope. 3: Put that in the outer return envelope and sign + date it. 4: Return it by mail, drop box, or your county office. MontCo locations are at montcovotes.com.

We had such a fun time talking with neighbors at the Montgomery Township, PA Autumn Festival on Saturday! 🍂 We handed out hundreds of PA-themed coloring and activity books and let folks know how our office can help. 🤝

On Thursday, the Plymouth Township Zoning Hearing Board had a hearing on the proposed data center at 900 Conshohocken Rd. ✅️ MontCo & others now have party status. 📆 Next hearing: 11/19, 7PM, Twp Building, w overflow seating + livestream. 🗣️ Public comment is after all experts are cross examined.

We know that early intervention services for children with developmental delays or disabilities is key to their success and wellbeing. Since 2023, we've worked to increase early intervention funding by $128.5M to better meet the needs of pre-school aged children and their families.

As a nurse, I know staffing shortages strain care teams and patients alike. That’s why we created the Nurse Shortage Assistance Program to recruit and keep nurses at the bedside with up to $30,000 in student debt relief, matched by partnering hospitals.

This investment - $5M over two years - builds upon the success of my Student Loan Relief for Nurses program and will be a permanent fixture in expanding the healthcare workforce pipeline.

My fall Senior Services and Wellness Hub is THIS FRIDAY! 🥳 Come check out a one-stop-shop for seniors with giveaways, health screenings, state services and wellness resources geared towards older adults. We'll be at Generations Of Indian Valley on Friday, 10/16 from 9:30am-11:30am.

Today is Indigenous Peoples' Day, a time to honor and celebrate indigenous communities, culture, and history. Our district sits on Lenni-Lenape lands, the original inhabitants of Eastern PA, Delaware, New Jersey, and Southern New York.

Take it from a nurse: your mental health is just as important as your physical health. And if you are struggling, you are not alone. I won't stop fighting for policies that fund, support, and improve mental healthcare. Because Pennsylvanians deserve better. If you need support, call or text 9-8-8.

We can't build a stronger economy without prioritizing childcare. In this year's state budget, we increased childcare worker retention bonuses from $450 to $540. That's nearly $100 more for the hardworking folks who provide essential care, education and developmental programming for our kids.

Investing in our parks strengthens our communities and makes good economic sense for PA. I’m proud to have played a role in ensuring so many worthy projects in our district received funding, and I will continue to support efforts to protect and develop our natural resources. 🌿 ☀️

Saturday, October 10 is Period Action Day! 💪 🔴 I'm excited to join the Office of the First Lady of Pennsylvania and Mitzvah Circle for a period product drive and packing party in Norristown.

Career and technical education sets students up for success - whether they are headed to college, seeking an apprenticeship, or going directly into the workforce. It was a pleasure to visit North Montco Tech, meet with school leadership, and speak to students about their coursework.

For the second year in a row, we approved the Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit (WPTC) in our state budget. Families who qualify for the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit will receive a 10% bonus, up to $805. That’s real relief—for groceries, for gas, for keeping the lights on.

As someone who represents an area devastated by PFAS contamination, I was happy to see the legislation amended to allow money from the Hazardous Site Cleanup Fund to be spent to protect against PFAS, a key element of my SB611.

Our communities must be made whole by the polluters that have contaminated our environment, and using the Hazardous Sites Clean Up fund for even more PFAS remediation is where I will keep my focus.

This week, we celebrated the first nursing pod in the PA State Capitol Complex! This dedicated space will support both employees and visitors looking for a clean, private place to nurse their children. Because the PA Capitol should be welcoming and accessable to every Pennsylvanian!

As a nurse and member of the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Women, I want to make sure that all women in PA are equipped and empowered to handle the changes that come with menopause.

I'm proud to be working with Reps Hanbidge, Shusterman and Cephas to improve menopause education for healthcare providers, require insurance coverage for menopause care, and give patients the resources they need to lead healthy and fulfilling lives. www.senatorcollett.com/menopause-aw...

senatorcollett.comMenopause Awareness Takes on a New Meaning in PAHARRISBURG, September 29, 2026 – State Sen. Maria Collett, and Reps. Melissa Shusterman, Liz Hanbidge and Morgan Cephas are celebrating the success of the ‘No Time for a Pause’ package […]

Every PA family should have access to quality, affordable childcare, and I will continue to fight to ensure our hardworking childcare providers have the resources they need to make that a reality.

For the fourth year in a row, we made universal free breakfast a reality in PA public schools. That means over 1.7 million students, including 115,000 here in Montgomery County, can start the day with a nutritious meal - no matter their income.

While out-of-touch politicians continue to threaten our essential healthcare freedoms, we gathered on Monday to share a clear message: we will not back down in our fight to protect and expand Pennsylvanians’ access to contraceptives.

Our colleagues in the House have taken action. The question now is whether or not Senate Republicans have the courage and the common sense to stand with the majority of Pennsylvanians who agree that birth control access should not be a partisan issue.

Despite the rainy weather, our neighbors gathered for a powerful Walk to Prevent Suicide at Temple University Ambler on Sunday. 🩵 If you or a loved one is struggling with your mental health, call or text 9-8-8.

I joined Dr. James Peterson on WURD Radio last week to discuss our recent visit to SCI Phoenix for a Geriatric Parole Forum, and why I support legislation to create a pathway to parole for aging incarcerated people (HB 1550 in the House, and Senator Cappelletti & Street's legislation in the Senate).

PA has one of the largest elderly prison populations in the nation. 23 other states have already implemented medical and geriatric parole. This is about doing what's right for folks who have served their time and no longer pose a threat to their community. Listen: soundcloud.com/onwurd/senat...
