I honestly love getting AI-generated emails trained on a blog post I did about punk music. It’s like being visited by an android who reads the band names on three t-shirts and says “that is music only the most passionate of listeners and curators could conjure.”

An absolute masterpiece by Nina

I went down to New Orleans to profile Twisted Teens Come for the answers to those pervasive questions online (How do you write three addicting albums in one year? Who even are they and where did they come from?) and stay for the stories of lifelong trainhoppers pitchfork.com/story/twiste...

bought his memoir for $1 at the library sale today, which isn’t a financial commitment but I’m making space for it in a room without space. shirtless Thurston I almost apologize for lambasting your nipples.

Doing this was a dream come true and I couldn’t have done it without the help of @kendralpk.bsky.social. I love rock and roll

Bandcamp Friday new music recommendations: a psychedelic devotional by P.P. Rebel, garage punk heater 7" drops from Baby Tyler and the Etters, the Yuasa-Exide comp, and a pile of unhinged new hardcore records. read all about it, this week and every week, on the see/saw column PUNK THIS WEEK:

see-saw.funpunk this week: p.p. rebel, bad sports, tv buddha + 19 moreThe Etters, Yuasa-Exide, Stef Chura, Baby Tyler. It’s a great big pile of good rock'n'roll records this Bandcamp Friday.

living with a toddler is a miracle because one second they're screaming about play-doh, the next second they're effusively thanking you for finding a lost tub of play-doh, and then a minute later they’re screaming because you can't materialize a color of play-doh you never had to begin with

a bunch of people lost livelihoods while dude's foot was halfway out the door, holding a spot for himself as mattel's next ceo. some of the world's best journalists and media workers fucked over by a dude who jumped from pandora to conde to mattel. very fun when the rich get a new playset.

nobody ever did it like Pac. his world title run was always frustratingly around the corner. unreal on the mic, perfect in the ring. how is this real.

scene: grocery store, waiting for someone to stop blocking a spot. finally said “excuse me” and slid tight between their cart + grabbed oat milk + slipped back out. side-eye response: “uhh I would’ve moved.” me: “oh don’t worry about it” they walk away, annoyed me, yelling: “I’M LITHE”

you ever have a three year old demo a popsicle, climb up behind you on the couch, wipe their mouth off with the top of your bald head and then give you a wet top-of-bald-head raspberry? humbling act of disrespect. how’s everyone doing tonight gooood goooood

a contract gig where for one hour you can burn incense, drink coffee, and blast a record while you do what you have to do, long may it run ☕️

I found some old sticker and temporary tat books and gave them to my 3-year-old child. He now pretends to read elaborate stories in this horse tattoo book featuring only two remaining temporary tattoos. Yesterday he picked it up and began: "HORSES DEEP. By GEO TODD. Pictures by ROCK'N'ROLL."

tonight I ripped some wires out of an old sconce, used them to rewire a fancy-looking piece of shit fixture I spent too much money on, and finally got it working. my confidence got a nice boost but as a bald with facial hair, this is the actual energy:

new Eraser was only out for like 5 minutes but get ready by listening to 1-800-MIKEY and SPREAD JOY and FREE ELECTRICITY

oh my god. look every week I'm like "it's a great new week for punk records" but on this bandcamp friday, there are records topping this column that I'm obsessed with. been quietly devouring eraser, mikey, spread joy like a starving dog for weeks. the lost go album! generacion suicida! holy shit!
