Last night was disappointing, but I’m not done fighting for a brighter future for ALL. One thing my parents taught me is how to not quit. I’ll announce more soon!

Two things can be true at once: The Iranian regime is evil, and there may have been a strong rationale for the strike (I don’t have access to classified intelligence). Our system of checks and balances is essential to our democracy and the President is systematically dismantling it.

RFK Jr. suggests Americans can more easily afford groceries if they start eating liver instead of beef: "Most of the cheap cuts of meat are very inexpensive. ... You can buy liver or the cheap cuts."

This is what happens when we allow a government agency to act without oversight. Thomas is right, we are only scratching the surface of what’s being done under the cover of darkness.

We only know about the ICE murders caught on camera. There are so many more.

I fear we are losing our ability to be outraged by Trump's incessant corruption - the latest being his threat to throw Jay Powell in jail unless he adopts Trump's interest rate policy. Trump doesn't stop trying to be an autocrat. And we shouldn't stop being outraged by it.

House Republicans just passed their so-called health care plan. This bill fails to lower health care costs before the end of the year. There is only one real solution: Extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits.

You may think I’m healthy, I don’t need insurance, but will it always be that way? The problem with catastrophic only plans is that preventive and routine care reduce the probability, intensity and cost of a catastrophe.

The challenge with insurance is that individual purchasing decisions affect the group. If healthy people opt out then everyone left pays more. This causes others to drop out, again raising prices for everyone left. The cycle continues until the few people who remain are effectively uninsured.

Corporate tax cuts. Estate tax cuts. Overseas income tax cuts. Pass through business tax cuts. These are all tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy that Trump wasn’t willing to let expire. But ACA tax credits to protect health care? Forget about it.

As MAGA is so concerned with government subsidies for ACA health plans, it’s important to note that the government also subsidizes employer sponsored plans through a tax break for the employer contribution. The total cost of that tax break is over three times the cost of the ACA subsidies. ≈

“Trump’s “plan” to bypass insurance companies shows a complete lack of understanding of how insurance works. Smaller risk pools increase variance and raise costs. He wants risk pools of 1 - effectively eliminating insurance for anyone that doesn’t have it through an employer or Medicare."

Today is Election Day, and while we aren’t on the ballot just yet, there are many important local races taking place. Whether it’s for a School Board candidate, City Councilor, or any position that matters to you - make sure you vote and make your voice heard

Two wrongs don’t make a right. Adding imports because tariffs are raising prices just continues to hurt American ranchers and consumers. It’s far more expensive to import thousands of miles than it is to source local beef, while threatening family farms.

After the No Kings protest, many are asking "What's next?" This is our generation's "What can you do for your country" moment. I encourage everyone to not doom scroll and complain but to be active. If you aren't running for office, support someone who is.

If you can't support anyone who is running, support a non-profit like the ACLU or Marc Elias. Our next generation will remember us either way: For what we did do, or for what we did not do. Let's make it the former.

While I appreciate Secretary Hegseth's sudden concern for protecting national security secrets, this is not the way to do it. Compelling media outlets to sign away their First Amendment right to a free press defeats the purpose of having it. That's why even Fox News has refused to do so.

The cease-fire in Gaza is a great start, but we're a long way from the finish line. We need continue to push both sides to stay at the table until there's a determination of how to rebuild Gaza, and how a peaceful Palestine can self-govern without being a threat to Israel.

Our Governor is playing national politics with the Texas National Guard. We need a Texas legislature that is more concerned with running the state of Texas than with running for President.

Also, it is entirely inappropriate for him to be sending our Guard to a state where that Governor has not only not requested them, but even sued to prevent them from being sent.

As a retired officer of the US Army, I am shocked by the President's suggestion that we would use American cities as a "training grounds" for our military. I swore an oath to the Constitution, not to any person.
