The Scamperbeasts

The human warned Smudge that, in fact, he would not actually want the peppermint-flavored vegan mini-marshmallow, and the human was, alas, entirely correct

"This is my sunbeam, go find your own"

Ask not for whom the Smudge lurks, he lurks for thee

The competition in the Midwest Interspecies Loafing Regionals is intense and it's hard to say at this point who will prevail and advance to the national quarterfinals

Saja has located a sunbeam. More updates as events warrant.

Saja asserts dominance over the dog and the dog is actually kinda into it

Saja's head pat most emphatically did not go over as intended.

Smudge has some important news: BOX

Spice is just THRILLED the human is back from his travels, THRILLED, I say

"Hey, when did the kitten get so big?"

"I think the dog is dead. I think we should eat her."

"No, I am not sleeping on the top stair just to trip you and make you fall down the stairs. But it would be a nice bonus."

"I was told there would be bacon."

"Yeah, okay, that bird is DEFINITELY trying to start something with me"

"The power is out and you can't get online to work? That means you have more time to focus on me. Get to it, human."

Sugar: "So where am *I* going to sit? Rude."

"Why, yes, officer, I did see the whole thing, and I would be willing to testify in court about it"

Spice and Smudge exhibit the differences in nap position philosophies

Smudge, his face studiously neutral about whatever nonsense he is being forced to observe from the stairs

A Scamperbeast, actually scampering!

"You were gone for several days without permission, human. But I am so glad you are back I have left you a special gift in your shoes. You're welcome."

"I'm not lurking. I'm observing with intent."

Today is apparently a high water mark in the annals of "Can't Even"

Be a hero to a new generation of Scamperbeasts!

"Yes, I AM the pretty, pretty princess, now adore me as is my due."

And now, Smudge's review of the piece of fried bologna he was just provided: Quite good, actually

"What the hell are they doing setting off fireworks for? It's still light outside!"

Saja is in training to be a Certified Luggage Inspector and he takes his training very seriously

Saja appears to be experiencing Kitten's First Existential Crisis

Smudge: "Spice doesn't know this yet but I am totally about to bat at her ears." Spice: "Oh, I know."

Saja offers you the most tender and tasteful of bleps.

"The human's shirt does not have nearly enough cat hair on it. I can fix that."

Smudge appears to be questioning his life choices

To begin the month of June, Smudge offers up the rare but valuable TussleMlem™, with an assist from Saja

We appear to have a programming dispute

"Never forget, human, your primary job is 'couch'"

"What do you mean, 'why can't I lay in the cat bed like a normal person'? This IS normal!"

You need a little scrunge in your life

"Why are we lurking under the kitchen table just before dinner? Why, no reason. No reason at all."

"You typed WHAT"

"I have notes about your most recent portrait of me"

Saja has been introduced to the concept of rain and is not sure he is a fan of it

"Don't speak to me or my son ever again"

Mischief considered, and then, reconsidered

The human is being informed that, contrary to its own opinion, it is not yet time for it to stop being a cat couch

Smudge, a perfectly normal cat who is absolutely not here to consume your soul
