Are folks using any AI tools for writing these days? I'd love a cursor-like text editor that makes in-line edits, can help look for link references, save/manage files, and potentially refer to instructions / tone of voice examples / reference docs. #buildinpublic

Introducing our #opensource uuidkey project - It creates beautiful API keys by encoding and formatting UUIDs. Plus, if you're using UUIDv7 or any other timestamped format, you can still store them decoded in your database for faster indexing + sorting! docs.agentstation.ai/blog/beautif...

New users get a prompt to generate a key right from their first dashboard login. While API keys aren't the sexiest feature, every single user will needs one to unlock our product's full potential. It's a critical touchpoint we want to get right.

Warp terminal's AI commands are pretty cool. Been using it to write FFmpeg commands for video conversion / trimming / compression. Guess what all those online converter tools are using under the hood.... 🀫 #buildinpublic

[2/5] Most agent and web automation tools operate headlessly, with no visualization of OS or browser interactions. This makes it challenging to debug, demonstrate, or monitor agent behavior during execution.

[3/5] To improve the user experience, we decided to render each mouse movement, click, keyboard input visually, so the developer or their end-users users can follow along in live streams or recordings.

6/7 - #2 - I imagine apps using web agents will eventually abstract away the "browsing live view" entirely. Agents can run tasks asynchronously, and report back on progress or issues. This is a much more user friendly future where the focus is back on the job-to-be-done, less the agent itself!

4/7 - Take #2 - while its still very novel to watch an agent do tasks on your behalf live, I imagine the shine will eventually wear off, and users will just want the agent to do the work and report back when its completed, or if there are issues.

5/7 - What I think this means for the future of web and GUI agents: #1 - GUI agents need to run in the cloud on virtual devices, not the user's device! There are infrastructure+cost challenges to this but its not near-term sci fi - its just nuts and bolts engineering work.

2/7 - From the TechCrunch article: "One major caveat is that Project Mariner only works on a Chrome browser's foremost active tab, which means you can't use your computer for other things while the agent works in the background – you need to watch Gemini slowly click around."

3/7 - Take #1 - Web / GUI agent implementations will have to be moved off the local device to ever be truly useful, otherwise they either block the user's machine or require a local containerized environment/VM which can be resource intensive.

Built a AI Zoom agent on our API! πŸ€– The agent joins a Zoom meeting, then answers questions to a prospective startup accelerator applicant. Who needs weekly webinars for product or program walkthroughs if you can talk to an agent instantly, 24/7? #buildinpublic

Setting an ambitious goal today - we are going to get our first API request for an agent workstation into the dashboard. All of the infrastructure pieces are in place so this is the exciting part! Wish us luck! #buildinpublic

Excited to see GUI agents gaining traction. Its easier to train AI to use GUIs than APIs - there's a wealth of training data already, and more that can be generated. Not to mention, there are many actions that cannot be done via public APs. Working on building this future now!

Get ready for the GUI agents of 2025. The technology gives AI systems the ability to see and manipulate computer interfaces just like humans do β€” clicking buttons, filling out forms, and navigating between applications. Browser based agentic AI. $68.9 billion market opportunity by 2028.

To those rushing to build Bluesky scheduling/cross-posting apps - I would like a way to schedule posts on X & Bluesky, and specify communities in X for those posts (so I can share in their Build in Public community too). If you can do that, you got yourself a customer! 😁 #buildinpublic

5/6 - For background music I typically look for "Creative Commons" licensed music on Soundcloud. Make sure to check the specific license type. Most require attribution or a link-back of some sort, but "NC" prohibits you from using the music for commercial projects.

6/6 - If you were intrigued by the video and are an indie hacker looking for their next project... we're looking for early beta partners to build on our platform. We have a backlog of use cases from real companies in our network, and can support with credits to get an MVP off the ground. DM me!

3/6 - Our API actually generated the session recordings used in the video, so that made my life a bit easier. If I do need to do screen recordings I just use QuickTime on my Mac - the quality is good enough.

Anyone have advice for AI-assisted longform writing workflows that don't result in SEO slop? I have a backlog of article ideas with bullet point outlines but I'd like to start converting these into thoughtful articles more quickly. Is it as simple as rounds of edits with Claude? #buildinpublic

Seeing a crazy amount of SaaS / AI directories (mostly shared in The Other Place). Almost all of them have low domain authority, low organic traffic. Has anyone had success getting signups from these? Guess there'd be a modest SEO boost from backlinks but it's gotta be small... #buildinpublic
