I think "slightly positive" is an accurate description of me as a person 😄

its amazing how chatgpt knows everything about subjects I know nothing about, but is wrong like 40% of the time in things im an expert on. not going to think about this any further

In 2025, I'm letting go of all my web hosting clients. People advertise it as an easy source of passive income for web developers, but after a few years, it's become my least profitable service and biggest source of stress. I've already dropped the first few clients, and I already feel better!

Simple way to improve your Spotify experience: ignore what Spotify recommends. Find playlists created by actual humans. Skip everything "Made for you." Spotify has financial incentives to push cheaper music, which is why they recommend the same few songs over and over.

I'm seeing that the sample recipes I put on fodm.app already received some Google Search impressions. So I've decided to put links to them on the homepage in hopes that Google will push them more. I think the recipes can be a great source of traffic.

Improved the AI prompt for the FODMAP Ingredients list scanner today at fodm.app/scan. Also made sure I don't compress the image too much. I now have a hi-res image I send to Claude, and a lower-res image I save on the server to display past scans.

Still it's quite bad at listing all the ingredients when the photo is slightly tilted. Maybe later on I'll try to do some image processing to fix that. For now I've added some guidelines on how to make the best photo.

Quick tip to make Claude more enjoyable to use: Set a Sans-Serif font. When in a chat, click on the settings icon on the top right. Then under 'Chat styles' set the font to 'Match system'.

The prompt (along with the HTML of the landing page): "Improve the design of this page. Use the design style of Tailwind UI. Also look at Stripe's design style." I then copied each section one by one, copied the elements that I liked and tweaked them to my liking.

AI is not great at design, but it gets significantly better when you provide some kind of style reference. For example: "help me improve the design of this landing page in the style of Stripe and Tailwind UI".

Made a little tool to help with FODMAP diets - make a picture of any food label at fodm.app/scan and it tells you if it's safe to eat. It's AI so it hallucinates sometimes, always make sure to double-check ingredients with the Monash FODMAP app.

Finally built something useful with AI: Upload a photo of any food label to fodm.app/scan and instantly check for FODMAP ingredients. Built using Claude Vision API. Note: Results might not always be 100% correct. Always verify results with official FODMAP resources.

Added a Discovery page to fodm.app. This page now shows the latest recipes created by others. Will add the option to favourite a recipe, and then show the most favourited on the Discover page. I feel like it can be really valuable to discover other low FODMAP recipes, besides adding your own.

I was wondering why some parts of fodm.app were updating when I deployed on @ploi.io, and others didn't. Turns out I had OPCache enabled. Added `echo "" | sudo -S service php8.4-fpm reload` to my script and all is working again. See ploi.io/documentatio...

ploi.ioI added new code but changes are not coming through, what did I do wrong? This is most likely due to the fact that you have OPCache enabled, which is actually no problem. You will have to clean the OPCache's cache after new c...

Read Dave, who helped build Facebook’s first content policies, on why this week represents such a big step backwards: “The specific examples I called out above have been prohibited on the site since I wrote the first set of hate speech standards in 2009.”

Folks are mostly missing the forest for the trees re: the recent Meta announcement. Specifically, the focus on the move from fact checking to community notes. There two different changes that are a much bigger deal that have received less focus. 🧵 1/11

Things I did: - Post on reddit.com/r/FODMAPS - Post in @levels.io Telegram chat - Post on LinkedIn To my surprise the first two created the most traffic & new users. I esp feel like the subreddit is a good channel, because the product has a very specific target group.
