emulation shaders are starting to get *really* interesting. you can now combine a crt shader w/ a realistic beam simulation which looks really good in person, but screenshots have the same issue of showing the rolling beam as if you were taking a picture with a fast shutter speed, lol

“There is zero transparency about what the “algorithm” is doing, but I’ve noticed a big uptick in the amount of hateful shit that’s fed to me in my “For You” tab.” I can attest to this as well. I never had to use the “don’t show me posts like this” at all, but in the last 2 months it’s every day.

I think that probably one of my favorite features here is that you can set up a CNAME DNS Record to make your custom domain username redirect to your profile. It's one of those things that makes it feel a bit more "yours" - on top of being able to actually own your data by hosting your own PDS.
