If your weekend plans don’t involve going to see “You Can See Everyrhing”, maybe reconsider your plans. Rivals “A Quiet Place” for one of the best ‘shared experience’ viewings in theatres. Go in cold. Outside of the trailer there’s nothing you can learn about this film that won’t spoil it for you

Hey, Toronto. Don't trust Brad Bradford.

Canada's National Observer@nationalobserver.com

This morning — following two investigations into Toronto mayoral candidate Brad Bradford's use of an app that rewards supporters for posting AI-generated comments and sharing contacts — Bradford called our reporting "inaccurate." We're now releasing the recording that proves our reporting.

Made some scoring changes to World Wardle today… mostly to try and correct for the over abundance of 1/6 scores being reported (far above what would statistically be expected).

The Fall Season starts today and I’ve introduced some scoring changes to try and balance some things out and make how tiebreaks work more transparent… let me know if you notice any issues or have questions! worldwardle.com/how-it-works

Looks a lot more like “Shania Law” to me…

They warned us Mamdani would impose Sharia law. Instead, he unleashed the real threat: line dancing in Bryant Park.

Before Europeans arrived, these were some of the names for The Great Lakes: Superior: gichi-gami (great sea) Erie: erielhonan (long tail) Michigan: michigami (long body of water) Ontario: Ontarí'io\kanadario (great lake\beautiful water) Huron: karegnondi (fresh water sea)

Honestly, not sure if "Oh yeah? Well, we're going to call that lake a different name" is an intimidation tactic best suited to a bilingual nation

Made some updates to World Wardle today to start surfacing some insights from all the puzzle result data it’s been taking in. Was a fun little visualization project.

The World Wardle homepage got a makeover today… check out the new stats and insights into the day’s results as well as some all-time WW stats > worldwardle.com What other data-oriented insights would you be curious to know?

I know I’m preaching to the choir but now would be a great time for Canadian governments and agencies to stop using X as a primary social platform

Honestly, we shouldn’t even be singing anthems before professional sports games. They’re not national teams - there’s no reason to be signing anthems (and especially not the anthem of another country)

That is one angry little storm… over 2,000 lightning strikes in the past five minutes in that area. The sound up here is just wild right now, a constant cacophony of rumbles from all directions with the periodic sharp crack from a nearby contributor.

It's interesting to see seismic activity before and after a major earthquake. Some are clear pressure releases and then activity dissipates around the world; others seem to just grind an area. Yesterday's quake in Japan looks more like the former to me: viz.ryancoleman.ca/seismic?h=48... #seismic

A while back I had an idea for a #wordle tournament using people shared score posts and putting them head-to-head in friendly daily battles. It's been silently running online the past few months while I worked out the kinks - but the Spring Season just ended and its time to share... how'd you do?

🌸 Spring 2026 results are in! The tallies are complete — stay tuned over the next few days to see who took the top spot, the podium, and who never missed a single day. #WorldWardle

The devastating earthquakes last week in Venuzuela got me thinking about seismic data... I ended up pulling together a visualizer called "SEISMIC". It can show up to a week of seismic activity, animated w/sound and visual indicators to illustrate intensity... #earthquake viz.ryancoleman.ca/seismic

I gave my AI OS its own blog… this may be a mistake but curious to see where it goes. Intended originally just to diarize its evolution for myself as I tinkered with it but thought “what the heck” and decided to let it publish out, happy to share the knowledge and interested in feedback. #aios

How is anyone surprised that something related to SpaceX is blowing up shortly after launch? I mean, it’s kind of their specialty.

Has Microsoft fired whoever is behind “New Outlook” yet? What an abomination. Not ready for enterprise use, discovering it’s even worse for consumers. Apparently getting a simple IMAP email account outside of MS/Google working is too much for it. How did this garbage even see light of day? 🤦🏼‍♂️

@gotransit.bsky.social has way over rotated on the customer service on-board announcements - it’s just constant at this point. I think we had 30 seconds between Union and Ex where something wasn’t talking at us. Ex > Mimico looking to be the same. Please find a way to talk less…

I've been messing with the concept of Microgames this week... Simple premise: Atari-era gfx, all in one HTML file w/JS. I built a claude skill for it, so I invoke /build-game, give it a few bullet points and I get a game that's 95% of the way there & finished w/in 3-5 prompts. Here's today's:

Congratulations to all the artists we celebrated tonight at the Juno Awards. Through your craft, you remind Canadians that we all belong to something bigger — a unique, ambitious, and creative nation.

I wish the Democrats would get just an ounce of message discipline. ffs, stop saying things like “we created” When referring to Trump’s nonsense Point the finger, lay the blame, don’t let up. It’s what the GOP does and it’s effective. Trump created this problem, no one else. Forget the word “we”

Nearly a quarter of teens sleep 5 hours or less per night and the majority sleep less than 8 hours. The problem is pervasive and technology doesn't seem to be the main culprit, according to a new report.

I don’t think we fully understand the damage the beloved Fischer-price record player did to late Gen-X / early millennial perception of vinyl records.
