This is a terrible statement. If you watch the full clip, he conflates frustrations about health care, cost of living, and education with the referendum. They are not even remotely related.

Staying up for these results has real New Year’s Eve energy. Hours of waiting for one moment, then in bed two minutes later.

Most of the coverage tonight has been a relitigation of Alberta’s grievances. Talking to separatists whining about Trudeau, panelists whining about Trudeau…and nobody ever really trying to introduce facts to their feelings. Pathetic.
