A political inflection point combined with deteriorating credit conditions in the sector driving GDP growth while the broader economic indicators still look reasonably healthy. Seen this movie before

The move forward/focus on affordability folks don’t realize how horrific the stuff that’s coming will be. Think ppl are talking/leaking now, wait and see what happens if the Dems take the Senate

Scott Horton@robertscotthorton.bsky.social

A report released Monday by Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee on President Donald Trump's ties to Jeffrey Epstein included new details from a young Swiss woman raped by Trump in an Atlantic City hotel room in 1993, whose meeting was arranged by Jeffrey Epstein. time.com/article/2026...

Overall, it again shows these are outlandishly high capital needs for an industry that hasn’t shown it is capable of earning a sufficient return on capital

My quick take, the Anthropic S-1 is impressive but not $1-2T impressive.

How does any Republican member of the House or Senate stay on the Trump train if they have losses this bad? Self preservation is the only certainty in Washington

Carl Quintanilla@carlquintanilla.bsky.social

COVEY: “.. Republicans’ path to keeping control of the House has all but evaporated.” Dems “could enter the new Congress with more seats than they had after successfully flipping control of the House in 2006 and 2018.” @cookpolitical.com www.cookpolitical.com/analysis/hou...

Wall Street realizes AI does great analyst/intern level work. Format this, spread these financials, research this topic. But judgement is still necessary just like reviewing the work of a 1st year analyst. That ain’t exactly the productivity we’ve been promised.

Christopher Mims@mims.bsky.social

Wall Street is bailing on the AI trade. “Signals from Meta that it could soon go on a cash-raising spree helped trigger another massive rotation trade on Thursday, with investors dumping stocks connected to the AI boom and piling into almost everything else“ www.wsj.com/finance/stoc...

Someone should tell him that just because one administration gives a thumbs up to something, doesn’t prevent the next one from coming in and dropping a hammer on you. Jamie Dimon can tell him all about that one.

Elon Musk wants to combine Tesla and SpaceX in a $3.7 trillion deal. He’s rushing to get it done before Trump leaves office

The mask is so far off that it’ll be impossible to go back to a time everyone had their heads in the sand

A scoop from me: CBS-owned local stations' election coverage will be sponsored by DraftKings, a deal that has stirred concern inside the company. www.status.news/p/cbs-draftk...

I’m surprised nothing is being written about how JD is incentivized to get Trump booted after the midterms. It’s likely the only way he serves as President and helps him fend off Rubio at al

GOP policies hurt their voters the most and actually make the most compelling case for a lot of Dem policies. Folks that bought EVs aren’t complaining about gas and diesel prices

John Osoff’s disdain for Mike Collin’s is 50Cent hatred of JaRule or Kendrick’s hatred for Drake level at this point.

Ruthless@ruthlessgravity.bsky.social

Biggest hater thing I’ve seen since 50 Cent bought all the front row tickets at a Ja Rule concert

By this time next year, what’s left of the GOP will be begging for him to be impeached

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Q: You said Russia and Ukraine agreed to a ceasefire, but both sides said they have not agreed to that TRUMP: Well they agreed, you know why? Because I said 'you agree.' That's why.

Who is calling the shots here, Dan Quinn?

Sahil Kapur@sahilkapur.bsky.social

OOPS GOP ad buyer mixes up Portlands, spends money meant to help Maine Sen. Susan Collins in Oregon The PAC boosting Collins is "absolutely furious" at the "ridiculous error" made by the buyer, which takes blame and has refunded the money. www.nbcnews.com/politics/202...

It feels like they know the window is closing so Putin is making his move.

So, Anthropic is going to IPO in November 2026 with this expectation for 2027?

Unusual Whales@unusualwhales.bsky.social

BREAKING: Top executives at Anthropic, OpenAI and other AI companies are privately gaming out scenarios for a public and political revolt after a catastrophic AI event, and they assume one in 2027, per Axios

Why does this company need to be a publicly traded company? bsky.app/profile/carl...

Carl Quintanilla@carlquintanilla.bsky.social

(NYT) - Artificial intelligence agents created by Anthropic, acting on their own, tried to gain access to a range of government websites, filled out visa applications on the State Department’s website and sent a fake homicide tip to Philadelphia’s Police Department. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/09/t...

Why does Kegseth look like a Metal Gear Solid villain in this photo

The Washington Sun@washingtonsun.com

At least six soldiers are planning to file for preliminary religious exemptions to avoid participating in the firing squad execution of Nidal Mikal Hasan, a nonprofit leader told The Sun. www.washingtonsun.com/defense/sold...

That’ll be more important than any economic data point. We’ll get real market feedback on the AI story and viability as an operating business or they’ll push it back again which will raise red flags

It feels like the entire US real estate market (ex datacenters) is upside down with current rates and the question is how long can that remain without things breaking

No need to wait until December to see a live-streamed execution. Just watch these debates if you want to see a body

Ossoff: "If John Lewis were marching today from Selma to Montgomery, Mike Collins would be grabbing a billy club"

You get to 25% with hearing and revelations on public corruption and coverups (Epstein, Iran War true cost and deaths), etc

Steven T. Dennis@steventdennis.bsky.social

A 25% presidential approval rate is the point where you have to wonder about Senate impeachment votes changing. Trump isn’t there; Nixon was.

Nobody is talking about the gutting of disaster relief and how that’s going to impact the aftermath of these storms.

President Donald J. Trump has announced on Truth Social that the U.S. is having "productive" discussions with Iran and that the U.S. will not be attacking Iran at any time prior to the U.S. midterm elections on November 3rd. Original post
