Vivek Ramaswamy’s Kindergarten Teacher Puts Out Statement: “Oop, catch a bubble, Mr. Man! That’s NOT how we treat our friends.”

You have to really, really, really fucking suck for your 8th grade teacher to come out and shame you like this. Damn.

SOCIALIST MAYOR SCRAMBLES NYPD TACTICAL HOOPS TRAINING

Chris Sommerfeldt@c-sommerfeldt.bsky.social

New: Mayor Zohran Mamdani and a group of his friends have been secretly using the NYPD Police Academy’s gymnasium in Queens to play pickup basketball — scrambling some operations at the facility. w/ @grahamrayman.bsky.social & Joe Anuta www.politico.com/news/2026/10...

this kind of bad faith wokeslop is downstream of takes like "being anti-Shein is fatphobic" and "it's ableist to ask writers to read"

my nuclear-grade AI hot take that’s sure to get me cancelled until kingdom come is that refusing to use AI at all is rapidly becoming an extremely privileged lifestyle choice that feels social justice-y while actually being the complete opposite

I think one of the more important skills you can have in 2026 is knowing when someone is performatively using progressive coded language to argue for something that is fundementally not progressive because they can claim a perceived moral high ground.

Just tonight a random convenience store clerk in Providence, Rhode Island gave me and me and my kid a free pint of Ben & Jerry’s for no obvious reason. “You have to be kind!” he said. I guess! Speaking of which: hey, what’s up with Providence? Seems great and everyone here is manifestly insane.

thinking fondly again of the college girl at the donut place, who made a little muslim boy bounce giddily out the door after she told him his donut was free, and who waved me away and said "you're good" when it was my turn to pay and then, when asked if there was a deal that day said "i hate my job"

It’s good that New York won but it remains sort of troubling that American cities are in what increasingly looks like an asymmetrical warfare/insurgency situation vis a vis the federal government.

Some cities it's just not worth fucking with

<THREAD> I’m now hearing this meme that says the Game Theory Society, et al. are doing nothing, just gave up. Guys. It’s time for some

Legitimately a dream to write something that inspires a reader to "go Martin Luther Mode."

@davidjroth.bsky.social the county Republican party (in Ohio) is in the same building that I work in, and I taped up part of your column to their door today, because you express your disgust much more civilly and coherently than I do, much thanks.

The thing about airbnb is the Olden Dayes was that it was *cheap*. I used to stay in somebody’s apartment in Hell’s Kitchen for like $65 a night. Sure there was probably bedbugs but for that price?? Now it’s just hotel prices with facebook marketplace hassle

K. Thor Jensen@kthorjensen.bsky.social

it's hard to describe to young folks how cool airbnb was when it first launched. just weirdos and spare rooms for like twenty bucks. we stayed at a guy's house in oregon who was a "bear safety expert" and when we asked him what to do if a bear attacked you he replied, completely seriously "i dunno."

Are we talking FREE transition here, because like.... that would save my family a fair amount of money tbh

No I said it was blood SUGAR SEX magic. … Ok yes it’s still blood magic under the hood but

ok, yes. i used a little blood magic to make this potion. but in my defense, it's hard NOT to use blood magic these days. all the tomes and orbs are powered by it. blood magic is really a systemic issue. in a way i'm a hero for admitting i use it

One conceptual framework for dealing with this information that I've found at least useful, if perhaps not 100% original or revelatory, is: Peepee and Poopoo Peepoo.

Struggling to engage with the concept of “father and son Republican operatives Timmy and Tommy Teepell.” Come on man can even one thing be like 5% less stupid

That Rutger Hauer rewrote his death speech in Blade Runner from something that sucked into the “tears in rain” speech, probably the best death scene in movie history. The script version ended: “All those moments... they'll be gone.” lmao

Amy "Thunderjam" Chase@amythunderjam.bsky.social

We all know the "Viggo broke his toe" story but what's another movie fact you're personally compelled to bring up every time without prompting? For me, it's the fact that Robin Tunney is wearing a wig in The Craft because of having just shaved her head to save her job filming Empire Records.

“I’ve seen things… you people wouldn’t believe. Space stuff, like galaxy plasma and, I don’t know, beams or whatever. Crazy shit. All that stuff? It’s in the crapper now, cause I’m dead.”

Boobies! At The Water Park

on a train running two hours behind schedule and sitting across the aisle from a guy who I think has Tourette’s because keeps declaring “Boobies!” and just now switched it up by blurting “Boobies at the water park!”

This is CBS News political correspondent and chief legal correspondent endorsing the overtly Christian Nationalist viewpoint that the U.S. Constitution doesn’t protect freedom of religion for anyone but (some) Christians.

Justin Baragona@justinbaragona.bsky.social

Hearing from my sources that this "over the top" tweet from Jan Crawford is being discussed internally at CBS. At the same time, as those same sources noted, "Jan is protected by Bari" and has been a very vocal acolyte of Weiss. "She just can't help herself," one network insider said.

Aside from all that it’s also an extremely dumb take on this video? Only a gutter racist or a genuinely stupid person (but I repeat myself!) could come away with this reaction.

I watched someone take five back and forth cycles to get a cybertruck out of a parking space today while I stood there waiting to walk past, making eye contact with the driver and shaking my head sadly the whole time.
