"it's just autocomplete"

I mean “yes, and so is language.” I wish it had been possible for more people to experience this as a cool moment of self-recognition.

Television! I've been using it since the release last week and I think they are onto something. Think of it as a durable surface for your artifacts. The graphical interface for your text only agents.

Rupert Manfredi@ruperts.world

Television 1.5 gives each artifact its own little data store, that agents can post and subscribe to. This means all your artifacts are natively interactive — and TV feels a little less like a window manager, and a little more like a computer.

Television 1.5 gives each artifact its own little data store, that agents can post and subscribe to. This means all your artifacts are natively interactive — and TV feels a little less like a window manager, and a little more like a computer.

This works with any kind of data. Here's a self-contained Excalidraw artifact, running locally – my agent can see these, create them, and edit with me.

We're working on allowing you to create your own types of artifacts—docs, tables, flight trackers, household inventories— that work with their own live data. Coming soon!

Introducing made-for-tv, a repo I set up for my custom Television power-ups. Starting with some handy artifact creation skills, a calming theme, and servers to connect Television to your local files & Obsidian.

Television is a beautiful workspace for your artifacts. I use it every day to plan my life, build projects, and accumulate knowledge. Now available for all to try (and open source): television.run

I don't buy "we are going to create a superintelligence that is going to adversarially kill all humans". but I do buy "people are going to deliberately commit cybercrimes they could never have done before at a scale we haven't seen before"

Artifacts in a generative UI should feel native, like they're all part of the same system. For our latest alpha release for Television, all your artifacts are now based on the same comprehensive design system (which also means you can theme the entire UI!)

Television *extreme dogfooding* – music collector's edition. Apple Music sucks, Spotify sucks, I just want to collect and organize all my songs in a simple way that I own that works no matter where the music is. Apparently, no one wants to make me a nice app for that. so...

...I hooked up my [autofile](github.com/telepath-com...) server so it can store tracks, albums, and artists, and basically one-shotted this little music player (which also works on iOS via tailscale). Now this can play albums I've bought, or Spotify tracks, or maybe later YouTube, etc.

New atproto app idea I demoed yesterday where you record what you’re grateful for and tag someone. Each orb is a recording, and is used to power a generative synth for a dynamic ambient soundscape. Definitely zoned out to this last night 👽

Betaworks always has a visionary thesis for their camp program (the first camp was based on chat UIs with machine intelligence – in 2016!) This year is no exception: the new agent economy. If you're working in this space, I highly recommend you apply. www.betaworks.com/writing/camp...

instead of apps, Television has skills! apps do one thing well, but are inflexible. vibe-coded UIs can do anything, but are inconsistent and sloppy. with artifact skills in our latest release, you can create reliable, beautiful interfaces that are bespoke for a particular moment and purpose

(technically, these are made possible with web components – a full interactive task list is 10 lines of pure HTML instead of a 200-line web app, and still infinitely customizable)

A small ask from the local-first community. I’m speaking at @localfirstconf.com in Berlin about @tiles.run, but this year the conference isn't able to cover speaker travel. I'm trying to raise $700 through Github Sponsors to cover my flight. Any amount helps. github.com/sponsors/til...

Television is the missing GUI for personal agents, created by me and the team at @telepathinc.bsky.social. It will be open-source, but in the meantime we're inviting early users to our private alpha. lmk if you want to try it out!

Introducing Television, the missing GUI for personal agents. Television is a visual workspace for you and your agent, and our first step toward a new interface paradigm for agentic computers. Now accepting alpha users, open source soon.
