Building rectangles at PlayStation

I'm hiring! Our team at PlayStation is looking for a Software Engineer, Application Framework to help build the framework that powers PlayStation experiences across multiple platforms. If you have experience with C++, SDKs, frameworks, developer tooling, DM me. 📍 San Mateo, CA

the bsky app is already pretty performant. Trying to think of a good demo for RSC on react-native. @danabra.mov any thoughts?

You would never be able to tell from this screenshot, but this is a bsky client on RNAndroid using RSC.

this little language I have worked on for a few years has C syle syntax A similar type system and module system to Ocaml Module resolution and distribution similar to Go Complete interop with C/C++ Can codegen C++ Macros Cross platform standard library No runtime Trying to make a greatest hits.

I think with messing again with this language I have been tinkering with, I think I stumbled upon a pretty good package manager for c++. Different than Conan or vcpackage.

The replies and quotes here aren’t exactly wrong, but the people saying them feel insufferable. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but this place feels like an echo chamber I mostly agree with yet still want to walk away from immediately.

Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?

What would be your greatest hits?

This language is as fast and 100% compatible with C++. Loving this little project.

Do you want me to bring my camera for some extra footage at your wedding Them: sure Me: let’s make a movie

Years ago, I once said "There is a lot more that can be shared between different react native runtimes" I still haven't clearly communicated what that is, but it is a LOT. RN could create an engine that implements a lot more of the runtime, with a stable C ABI that platforms can implement.

This is a combination of a lot of work I have been messing with the last 6 years. It is cool to finally see it come together. Will take a lot longer for the nest stage.

Implemented: * ui manager/fabric * turbo modules (app registry, app state, blob, web socket, tm manager) * events * renderer backends (skia/text) * Abstracted UI widgets (image, scrollview, text input, text, view)

It is a react native engine that is platform and renderer agnostic. I have had working prototypes of this idea on and off the last few years. Put some work in a few months ago to see it come together.

Skia is just an easy renderer for me to see it working. It also supports rendering to text, headless, and can easily adapt to others.

Due to the amount of work travel and time away from family this year, I unfortunately have decided not to go to React Miami. Lots of cool peeps will be there that I was excited to meet. Have fun!
