People who like #comics, maybe just #indiecomics, but definitely people who like #kickstarter comics. I made a feed for you! bsky.app/profile/ross... I'm still ironing out the kinks, and it might end up costing too much to make it worthwhile, but please use it and buy more comics!

What the hell is that fish eye lens that tv uses now? We've all bought enormous screens and they're blurring out the sides like I only need the pan and scan section in the middle.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will be responded to 24 hours later by a bot telling on you to your mum.

Oh, lovely. I was fine going between the two cards I pay with in Google Pay with a single swipe. How nice that they've broken that.

I'm sure some kind soul has created a reading list for all the Rob Williams Dredd. I need to go back to the beginning

We "bowl" here, we don't "pitch".

Chancellor to pitch budget at wealth creators – UK politics live

theguardian.comChancellor to pitch budget at wealth creators – UK politics liveJohn Healey is expected to cut red tape requirements, particularly for smaller businesses Good morning. A week today John Healey, the chancellor, will be doing a media round defending the budget he is presenting on Wednesday next week. Ahead of that, he has given an interview to Patrick Maguire from the Times. As you would expect, there is no real detail in it about the measures he will be presenting to MPs. But the big picture message is very clear – and quite surprising, coming from a chancellor serving a PM who in some respects is steering left compared to his predecessor. Healey says that he wants to be on the side of bloody-minded entrepreneurs who make a profit, he acknowledges that government has made their life harder over the past two years, and he suggests that cutting the ‘cost of living’ for business is just as important as cutting the real cost of living for families. In the quote that gives the Times its splash headline, Healey says: I want to be a chancellor who backs business in Britain making a profit, and those entrepreneurs who, in the end, are the ones who challenge the status quo, come up with innovative ideas and are trying, some of them through sheer bloody-mindedness, to keep going through these sorts of pressures … If you’re not making a profit, you’ve got nothing to put back into the business. And for the people who start up these businesses, the ones who really thrive and grow, they have to make a profit — and they will be much more inclined to put it back into their own business. But we want it to grow here and stay here. If you talk to any of the businesses that have come in and have either had one-to-ones or round tables with me, I have recognised that in recent times there’s been a lot of pressure: employment law, regulation, tax, input costs, supply chains. And so when I talk about the cost of business, and recognising that in the same way as we’re recognising the cost of living pressures, I’m conscious of that as I go into the budget for both businesses and households. [Healey] is expected to use the budget to make significant cuts to regulation on businesses that one senior Treasury source described as “the sludge choking firms”. Reporting requirements are likely to be abolished for many smaller enterprises, The Times understands. Continue reading...

Thinking of getting one of these, attaching it to the side of my monitor, and programming it to mute mic, switch to headphone output, and switch to speakers output. I wonder if I have a os-level mute option for all mics. www.amazon.co.uk/SinLoon-Prog...

35 years ago today, Thunderbirds the Comic went on sale. For cover artist Steve Kyte, for Graham Bleathman and the other artists involved, it was a dream come true. They were working on a new version of their childhood inspiration, TV21, with original editor Alan Fennell. #FABtimes #greatart

Hopefully it won't take so long to rebuild things now, and I won't be so saddened when they're immediately destroyed

Wow, that's an incredible easter egg... The mother and kid from The Exorcist are in the crowd fleeing Martians in Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds.

Don’t know if this is an art swipe or merely reference material - but I spotted it recently having known the artwork since it first came out many many many years ago!

I've recently started learning Riichi Mahjong, so can I have some manga, please?

Lauren Orsini @laurenorsini.bsky.social

I interviewed Harrison Doan of @mahjongpros.bsky.social and discovered mahjong manga is a bigger deal than I realized: www.animenewsnetwork.com/interview/20...

Managed to use a jigsaw and a router today without hurting myself, and produced something like what I wanted. A couple of glowing eyes and some wood stain, and I'll have a spooky halloween cat.

Seeing that Borlands (Darts and Televisions) has closed makes me sad. A shop I never once went into, but will miss all the same.

Tried using the pocketcasts smart playlists, and I swear it's sometimes just jumping into the middle of a show that I've not started. I'll pause, come back in a bit, and suddenly it's on another show and halfway through.

Nearly screwed myself over there. Turns out it's not coconut yoghurt we bought, it's regular yoghurt with some coconut added to it. That could have been unpleasant.

Blurted out "Oooh, ya pig!" in a meeting, confusing everyone. Is it actually a Scottish phrase? Searching turns up nothing. I'm sure it is...

I don't think I have a following, either near West London or anywhere really, but if I was closer to the event I'd be going. Great film!

18 days to go – if you have a following in or near West London, please share the attached post with your audience. We have a small number of tickets left and would love to sell out if we possibly can to get a really good atmosphere going. 🎩🙍🏻‍♀️🔪 How many reposts can we get?
