I can’t believe I’m posting about this, but it’s true that the restaurant with the book menu is probably a “treat” or “special occasion” spot for many people. That’s not the same as fine dining. Ok thanks I needed to say that.

It's Sunday morning and there are good ebooks on sale! All links to Amazon and Bookshop are affiliate links, other links are not. Affiliate links = I get a small cut of the retailers' profits. Bookshop is my favorite where it's an option! They may be on sale other places!

Hi #PortfolioDay, I'm a queer artist who would love to work with more authors to bring your character art and cover illustrations to life! I just finished my last commission so my queue is empty and I can start new work immediately. Pricing, more examples, interest form: www.kayworx.com/portfolio

Recommendations Ask! Please share Domme / femme-led kink romances and erotica! Can be very clearly negotiated dynamics or the type of thing I see often in male-dominated stories of a casual “keep your hands there” “good girl” kind of vibe. Please repost for more recs!

Examples of this category that I’ve really enjoyed: Claimed by the Flame of Faery & The Sorceress and the Incubus by Mallory Dunlin The Duke I Tempted by Scarlett Peckham Preferential Treatment by Heather Guerre Bound by the Blood by Cecilia Tan

Highlights from mine include: “Reads romance and fantasy fiction extensively” “Prefers romance and fantasy fiction with supernatural elements” “Consistently purchasing discounted books” I didn’t find their results too intrusive, BUT we live in a metro area so can shop more diversely.

I mean on the one hand stuff like this remains invasive and creepy, on the other hand every single person who follows me could have compiled this list. 😭

In a world where many people would prefer we not exist, and many more just wish we weren't so obvious, queer romance and existence *is* resistance. One part of it anyway. If you want to read something that welcomes you, that are AI free, check out this promo - promos.foxgloveficti...

Replying to @courtneymilan.com

So if you actually care about restorative justice, the thing I beg you to start doing in these cases is CENTERING THE FUCKING VICTIMS. And not demanding that people immediately jump to how they can best not ruin the man's life.

Love this book and honestly I don’t think I can advertise it better than Katee’s quote. “A primal scream of queer joy!” ought to be an instant one-click!!!

I am not first and will be far from the last to say this: I have purchased so many books because I saw them recommended or publicized here on bsky. I cannot urge you all enough to KEEP TALKING ABOUT BOOKS. I know it's easier to talk up someone else's book, but this also means you, the shy author.

Nancy Jane Moore@nancyjane.bsky.social

I have mentioned it before, so maybe, but I know others liked it too. Hooray for word of "mouth" (or post) for getting it seen.

I recently discovered that Amazon now lets authors distribute ebooks to libraries and still keep the title in KDP, and now all my m/m books are available in Overdrive and Hoopla (and also various print retailers).

I have been feral about the concept of The Roommate Subtext, @eliawinters.bsky.social’s modern kinky Scarlet Pimpernel retelling since I first heard about it. It did not disappoint in the slightest. I’ve just read it all in a breathless afternoon and I have *thoughts*.

Listen, as a kinkster, I’m pretty worn out (for myself personally) on stories of women discovering their submissive fantasies and folks struggling with how their kinky and vanilla identities coexist. But Elia writes those both in ways that are beautiful, essential, and don’t feel worn out at all.

Elia writes wonderful, grounded, incredibly hot kink in this book as in her others. I especially appreciated how she called out that both characters know specific fantasies are unsafe *as they’re written out in fantasy* but that they can inform their real-life kink.

Things I love to see: explicit discussion of sexual health and safety!! (Condoms, testing, etc) Super clear explicit consent! Both MCs have community and talk to them!

There’s a gentle, nerdy dweebishness to Blake’s vanilla life that I thought was a perfect spin on the original’s foppishness. I also like Maggie’s genuine struggle to combine her impression of nerdy Blake with the Dom. For better or worse, we do tend to stereotype kinksters.

I need Elia specifically to know that naming the truly impressive community org “PlantSeed” is a terrible, hysterical choice in a kinky book 😂😂😂

I am also very very kinky. So you see how this book was made in a (beautiful wonderful) lab (Elia’s brain) just for me. I was too scared to live-post it, because what if I didn’t like it!! So I saved my live-posts to a notes doc instead 😂

To understand how I feel about this book, you must know that I was obsessed with the Scarlet Pimpernel as a teenager and young adult. I read it a bunch, as well as Orczy’s other books. There’s a particular Pimpernel scene that’s basically my entire id and still something I reference.

You too can own stickers that will confuse every person who sees them!! (I got a sneak preview and may have screamed a little. I feel so seen.)

Ghostly Bree@mostlybree.kitrocha.com

we are about to drop incredibly niche sticker sets on the pop-up shop, all entirely targeted at our discord's entirely unhinged community, celebrating their benevolent cult's many saints & their dedication to hydrating and also screaming PEZ NO 💓💃

This thread is ultimately about something else, but I have been deeply uncomfortable with the fatphobia that people display talking to/about animals (even their own adored pets). It’s hard to believe you don’t feel similarly about fat humans.

Kari Dru@karidru.bsky.social

I wasn't going to discourse. I started to and then deleted but erg this is bothering me. I had roommates who used to make fun of my cat for being fat and disabled. I objected and they were like "what? She doesn't know. We're not calling YOU fat and disabled."

This is both shocking and also “well duh I guess it does make sense that the problem treated by *as much sensory deprivation as possible* might be connected.”

Alyssa Visscher (she/they)@alyssavisscher.bsky.social

I, an autistic baddie with a migraine disorder, just found out that MIGRAINES are now being understood as a SENSORY PROCESSING DISORDER?! Give its association with social/emotional/sensory disorders, research has begun suggesting things like additional migraine screenings for folks with autism etc

Last night as I was getting ready for bed and mentally prepping for Monday, I all the sudden thought “Monday means more It’s a Superpower!” and it genuinely cheered me up about Monday. Can’t wait to listen on my commute.

“she liked to imagine that certified affineurs—people trained in the cheese-aging process—took some sort of dairy-centric Hippocratic oath requiring them to provide shelter and succor to needy, extremely tired fromage enthusiasts.” Truly, only @oliviawrites.bsky.social writes a line like this 😂💜
