First time joining an S&Box Game Jam. I was curious what it’s like developing on a UGC platform by Facepunch, supported by Valve. Inspired by the Black Dinner, I finished a party game a few days ago. I expected multiplayer networking to take a lot of time, but it was surprisingly friendly.

One game mode doesn’t require everyone to be online at the same time. Players have up to 24 hours to plan their move. If everyone locks in early, the turn resolves immediately. Inspired by The Battle of Polytopia. #bevy #gamedev

Push isn’t just for enemies, you can also push objects around the map into enemies to deal extra damage. Inspired by Into the Breach. If a target is pushed from multiple directions at the same time, it won’t move. Hopefully this reduces the mental load on players a little. #bevy #gamedev

To keep the Web WASM build lightweight, I used Blender to bake static lighting into the vertex colors. The scene still uses lit materials, so it supports dynamic lighting and shadows. Vertex baked lighting + dynamic shadows! #bevy #gamedev

The Dash phase resolves before the Strike phase. If a player predicts that an opponent will target their unit this turn, that unit can sidestep away before the attack resolves in the same turn. I love this kind of mind game tension! #bevy #gamedev

Prototyping a simultaneous-turn tactics game. What I love most is that all players commit their actions during the same turn, then everything resolves together. Inspired by Atlas Reactor. #bevy #gamedev

Francois and I are hosting a #bevy workshop at RustWeek again this year! We're trying a different approach: handing new-ish users a simple working game and encouraging them to explore and modify it. Take a gander at github.com/alice-i-ceci...: this should still be fun even learning self-directed.

It is quite interesting to monitor massive unit interactions. Thanks to the community's feedback, I’m gonna make a game based on this jam project and see where it can go. #bevy #bevyjam

Fixed my #bevy Jam 7 WASM build! 🦀 1. TypeError: Typed array for wait/waitAsync/notify must wrap a SharedArray Buffer. Fixed: Enable SharedArrayBuffer support at itchio 2. TypeError: [object Int32Array] is not a shared typed array Fixed: Install bevy_cli from main branch & build with it.

You are up to date.
